Chapter 100 For example, consider me

Chapter 100 For example, consider me

The weekend sunlight streamed into the living room through the floor-to-ceiling windows, making it feel exceptionally warm. Gu Yanchuan stood to one side, listening intently to his parents' conversation with Luo Yurou's mother. His gaze occasionally swept over Luo Yurou, noticing her polite smile as she held her teacup and spoke softly to his mother.

"Yanchuan," Gu's mother greeted, "come and sit down. You've known Yurou since you were little, don't stand there like an outsider."

Gu Yanchuan smiled slightly, walked to the sofa and sat down, his gaze fixed on Luo Yurou. Luo Yurou noticed his gaze, looked up at him, and a faint smile appeared on her face: "Brother Yanchuan, I heard from Auntie that you've been very busy lately. Is it because of the Lin Group?"

Gu Yanchuan nodded: "It is a bit busy, but it's all normal business adjustments."

Luo Yurou frowned slightly, a hint of concern in her eyes: "The Lin Group's stock price has been fluctuating quite a bit lately. I heard it's due to internal restructuring. You and Miss Lin are such good friends, you should be able to help her, right?"

When Lin Chuyue was mentioned, Gu Yanchuan's expression changed almost imperceptibly, but his tone remained gentle: "She has her own ideas, I was just doing my best."

Listening to their conversation, Gu's mother smiled with satisfaction: "Yu Rou, you and Yan Chuan should talk more. We've always hoped that you could communicate with him more, so that he can take some time out of his work."

Luo Yurou responded softly, her cheeks slightly flushed. Gu Yanchuan didn't reply, but simply lowered his head to drink his tea, his eyes deep in thought, as if he were pondering something.

Meanwhile, Lin Chuyue was at home working on documents. Her phone vibrated; it was a message from Li Zhanchuan: "Do you have time tonight? Let's have dinner together."

Lin Chuyue looked at the message, hesitated for a moment, her fingertip hovering over the screen for a while, and finally replied: "Okay, see you tonight."

Dinner was arranged at a quiet private restaurant. As soon as Lin Chuyue pushed open the door to the private room, she saw Li Zhanchuan already sitting there. He was wearing a dark suit, a glass of red wine between his fingers, and his expression was calm and confident.

"You're so busy, yet you still find time to treat me to a meal?" Lin Chuyue joked, walking over and sitting down.

Li Zhanchuan smiled and said, "Inviting you to dinner is an important matter, how could it be delayed?"

Lin Chuyue shook her head helplessly: "Just say what you mean, don't beat around the bush."

Li Zhanchuan put down his wine glass and looked directly at her: "I heard that you and Gu Yanchuan broke off your engagement."

Lin Chuyue was taken aback, then nodded: "Yes, we have reached an agreement, and this is the best option for us."

"It seems you've finally broken free from the shackles of those families," Li Zhanchuan said with a hint of teasing. "But after announcing the engagement, don't you have any other plans?"

Lin Chuyue raised an eyebrow slightly: "What plan?"

Li Zhanchuan leaned back in his chair, a half-smile on his face: "For example, consider me."

Lin Chuyue was taken aback for a moment, then understood what he meant and couldn't help but laugh out loud: "Li Zhanchuan, can you not be so direct? I don't have time to talk about feelings right now."

Li Zhanchuan looked at her seriously and said, "Relationships don't need to wait until you have time to think about them."

Lin Chuyue was momentarily speechless at his serious expression, and could only pick up her wine glass to hide her embarrassment: "I can't argue with you."

Li Zhanchuan's lips curled slightly as he raised his glass and lightly clinked it against hers: "Then don't try to talk me out of it."

After dinner, Lin Chuyue walked out of the restaurant. A night breeze brought a slight chill. Li Zhanchuan looked at her slender figure, took off his coat, and draped it over her shoulders.

"Thank you," Lin Chuyue said softly.

Li Zhanchuan looked down at her, his voice low and deep: "Chuyue, some people are destined to stand by your side, and I hope you can give me that opportunity."

Lin Chuyue looked up and met his deep eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, but she didn't answer. She just said softly, "Time will tell."

Li Zhanchuan didn't press further, but simply smiled and said, "Alright, I'll wait for you."

The two walked away side by side, the moonlight shining behind them and casting a long shadow.
