Chapter 741 741: Heaven and Earth's Favor·The World's Self-Saving Behavior_1

There's not much left, Wang Linchi mused, wandering through the Chaotic God World. He had managed to extract a vast amount of data by looking back through history. The secret of the Heavenly Dao's possession... I have no leads for now. Who knows how many years have passed? History isn't an unbroken chain; it can be severed and buried in the past.

My retrospection isn't time travel, so I can't investigate everything.

However, he had managed to fully reconstruct the event of the Heavenly Dao's fall. After all, five Ancestral Gods had survived. As participants, the history they carried was exceptionally complete, all of which Wang Linchi extracted, even witnessing the ancient battle with his own eyes.

It could only be described as truly tragic and brutal.

Back when the Heavenly Dao existed, there was no limit on the number of those in the Ancestral God Realm among the various races. The Heavenly Dao needed them as soldiers, so naturally, the more powerful they were, the better. It seems that, even then, ascending to the Ancestral God Realm required the Heavenly Dao's permission. However, this permission was always set to 'approved' by default, requiring no specific ratification from the Heavenly Dao; advancement was direct upon reaching the threshold.

But now, without the Heavenly Dao's support, becoming an Ancestral God is constrained by the concentration of the favor of heaven and earth upon one's race.

Every drink and every peck—it's all cause and effect, I suppose.

The reason is also simple: the Chaotic God World has an upper limit to how many Ancestral Gods it can sustain. During the Heavenly Dao Era, it was constantly expanding, so the number of Ancestral Gods never reached this ceiling. Things are different now. Not only has expansion ceased, but even the original capacity has shrunk, leaving a large number of Ancient God Realm cultivators unable to break through to the Ancestral God Realm.

"The era of the Heavenly Dao's formation is so ancient it's impossible to estimate; there's no way to pinpoint it accurately." Wang Linchi sighed. This is indeed a thorny problem.

They've certainly done an excellent job with secrecy.

Fortunately, it's not as if I've made no headway. At least I've found... a fragment of the Heavenly Dao.

I have to say, the Heavenly Dao's death was incredibly thorough. Only a few remnants—corpse fragments, really—were left, and even those were divided up by the Ancestral Gods.

That's what eventually transformed into the 'favor of heaven and earth'.

The traces were faint, but they couldn't escape Wang Linchi's exhaustive search.

This world is quite special. In other worlds, the Son of Destiny is usually an individual. Here, however, it's delineated by race, meaning everyone effectively has a chance to advance because it's the race as a whole that embodies Fate.

This refers to the favor of heaven and earth possessed by the Ten Thousand Clans.

This is truly the world with the most protagonists—and the strangest—I've ever encountered. Every race is a protagonist of varying scale, and individuals can also benefit from the collective Blessing. The distinction lies in the favor of heaven and earth that each race possesses. Wang Linchi found this rather fascinating.

This was likely a self-preservation mechanism the Chaotic God World implemented after the Heavenly Dao's demise. To prevent a 'software' collapse from rendering the 'hardware' inoperable, it must have been divided into two parts back then. One was Destiny—the favor of heaven and earth. The other was the mutation of the Cultivator System, enabling everyone to cultivate its rules.

It's precisely because of these two parts that the Chaotic God World has survived to this day. However, the favor of heaven and earth ultimately became a scourge.

If the favor of heaven and earth didn't exist, the conflicts among the Ten Thousand Clans wouldn't actually be so acute.

At least concerning living space and resource benefits, there hadn't been excessive conflict. After all, the Ten Thousand Clans have dwindled until only three remain, and they still haven't fully explored the Chaotic God World. Yet, the favor of heaven and earth directly impacts racial development, and that's what ignited the contention.

This wasn't entirely detrimental, though. At the very least, it spurred the continuous advancement of the Cultivator System. As conflicts evolved, they naturally turned into an arms race.

And the Cultivator System, being the 'armaments' in this race, naturally became the foremost element for development.

If I were to equip my Family with the favor of heaven and earth, wouldn't Yan Ming King and the others gain a double Protagonist's Aura? Wang Linchi suddenly had this thought.

Hmm, it does seem that way. But its usefulness appears to be rather limited.

The primary function of the favor of heaven and earth is to promote the emergence of new blood within a race, thereby forming a continuous line of successors. For me, however, the abilities and aptitudes of my Family can be modified. They can even be directly enhanced through Genetic Fluid, Biochemical Transformation, and other means, without nearly as many restrictions.

I need to calculate the costs before deciding whether to develop this project. Wang Linchi wasn't one to make decisions blindly.

This is because, for him, there are already equivalent alternatives for the functions of the favor of heaven and earth. He covers all expenses for his Family, so every policy, project, and experiment concerning them requires his approval.

If he were to approve this, it wouldn't just be for a hundred or so instances, but for tens of trillions. Even if the individual cost were extremely low, multiplying it by tens of trillions would result in a staggering sum.

The population of my Family is constantly swelling; 'increasing' doesn't even begin to cover it.

The more numerous the Family, the faster their civilization develops. Since they are, in essence, extensions of me, there aren't many social contradictions.

And I haven't deliberately limited their numbers; on the contrary, I encourage procreation—the more, the merrier.

My situation with my Family is actually quite similar to the relationship between the Heavenly Dao-dominated Chaotic God World and the Ten Thousand Clans back then. My own expansion and Growth are a horizon that the numbers of my Family can never hope to reach.

The favor of heaven and earth is merely a self-preservation mechanism, not a commercial venture. I'm afraid the costs might outweigh the benefits.

Wang Linchi made a quick estimate. It was implementable, but the benefits were rather speculative.

It has two main effects. First, an enhancement to aptitude during infancy and childhood. How much of an enhancement is uncertain—it could be a single unit, a hundred, or even a thousand. The fluctuation is too great.

Second, resource support during Growth. It supposedly grants certain 'fortuitous opportunities' during development, but this aspect is completely useless to me.

My Family operates under a complete provision model; I supply all resources needed for their Growth. As for so-called 'opportunities,' everything within this world—my inner world—is already mine. It's just shuffling my own resources around; they can't materialize out of thin air.

The favor of heaven and earth certainly doesn't have the power to create something from nothing.

Furthermore, it can supposedly increase resource output within a race's territory and reduce calamities. These aspects are even less useful than the resource support. Elsewhere, the favor of heaven and earth would undoubtedly be a Divine Artifact. But for me, my civilization's computational systems can manage such things, and the History of Time can alter the data directly.

For me, resource output is just a string of numbers; I can modify them, pay the cost, and they transform. Calamities are even more absurd. To speak of calamities within my own world-body is nonsense, as I control everything here. I can eliminate any potential for disaster right from the fundamental logic.

After further in-depth analysis, its efficacy ultimately went no further than this.

No wonder they fight so fiercely over it. It truly is a divine item for safeguarding one's own race. Just because it holds little value for Wang Linchi didn't mean it was worthless to the Ten Thousand Clans.

Regarding aptitude enhancement, the cost is somewhat acceptable. The project can be initiated, but it will require modification and adaptive integration.

Wang Linchi quickly packaged the data he had analyzed and tossed it into his civilization System. The project was too trivial for him to bother researching personally; his Family members could handle it.

A complete civilization naturally has its own researchers. Wang Linchi offloaded numerous projects to his Family members, letting them conduct the research. He only needed to cover the costs and then await the returns.

Otherwise, why would he support so many Family members? It was precisely so they could share his burdens.

Consequently, within his inner world, the vast majority of his Family members were actually focused on logistics, management, and research. Combat-types constituted only a small fraction.

This was standard. For example, a single combatant might require extensive logistical support for resources, specialized think tanks and experts for mission guidance, and dedicated professionals for reconnaissance, medical aid, and so on during battle. Essentially, every combatant had an entire team supporting them.

This included the members of the Heaven and Man Five Decay and the Six Paths of Reincarnation.

Thus, when a battle began, an opponent might think they were fighting a single Family member, but in reality, they were facing an information strategy formulated by an entire integrated team.

Wang Linchi focused on forging elite, high-precision combat personnel. Quantity was never the crucial factor; quality was paramount.

Of course, Wang Linchi didn't entirely disregard quantity. Rather, his main principle was specialization: let professionals handle professional matters. That way, maximum efficiency could be achieved.

The effects of the favor of heaven and earth are indeed present. Next, I can only turn to the Cultivator System. I hope the mutations within the Cultivator System can offer me some clues.

If that still doesn't yield results... I'll have no choice but to conduct 'dissection-style' experiments on the Chaotic God World itself.
