Mercenary’s War

Chapter 2378 - 2354: Gathering of the Winds and Clouds

Chapter 2378 - 2354: Gathering of the Winds and Clouds

In just a few short sentences, Gao Yang and Justin sealed a deal, and it was quite a big one.

The initial collaboration with Justin was limited to buying and selling intelligence, at most mingled with some personal friendship with Justin, but now Gao Yang plans to tie Justin to his chariot, and he easily succeeded.

Justin agreed to join Gao Yang for a very simple reason; he had just completed a major purge of the Cicero Family, and after sweeping away the old powers within the Cicero Family, Justin now indeed has complete control over it, but the aftermath of the purge inevitably resulted in significant losses for the Cicero Family’s strength.

Especially the military force the Cicero Family had in its hands, it was a devastating blow. A family’s invulnerability cannot rely solely on military power, but it absolutely cannot do without military power.

Gao Yang knew Justin needed a large private military company, not just an ordinary partnership but a closer relationship, so he extended an invitation to Justin, who unsurprisingly accepted the olive branch without hesitation.

Of course, Gao Yang didn’t just decide on the spur of the moment to invite the Cicero Family to join; Abdul had mentioned it to him several times that the Solar System Company needed a few strong forces to come together for it to grow into a real big company, relying solely on Satan alone, the Solar System Company is basically unlikely to succeed.

The relationship with Grand Ivan and Morgan is limited to friendship; they’re willing to provide Gao Yang and Satan with whatever help and convenience they can, but that’s not enough. Abdul’s suggestion was for them to directly buy-in, to turn the Solar System Company’s business into their own, turning issues limited to friendship into mutual interests.

If the Solar System Company succeeds, it would absolutely be a big enough benefit to tempt bigwigs like Grand Ivan and Morgan, rather than Satan’s current small antics.

Gao Yang had been hesitating, considering Abdul’s suggestion because founding a big company was a collective desire of Satan; giving up some shares was emotionally unacceptable to him.

But now it’s different; now the situation has changed.

Shah has been using mercenaries right from the start, making time much tighter; Gao Yang’s concern is that the Solar System Company might not be able to take an early bite at the juicy piece that is Shah, let alone swallow it whole, because once those super large companies enter, the Solar System Company really won’t stand a chance.

Now Gao Yang needs strong support, needs a company with a solid background to have the chance to compete with those established major companies, to have the room to continue to grow.

So when Justin mentioned that Shah had already started using mercenaries, Gao Yang immediately decided to bring Justin on board.

During negotiations with Justin, Gao Yang played a small trick. He said Grand Ivan and Morgan were also investing, which wasn’t an issue, just a bit of a chronological problem since Gao Yang had never actually mentioned to Grand Ivan and Morgan about getting them involved.

If the Solar System Company was just Satan’s company, Justin would almost never invest, but knowing Grand Ivan and Morgan were involved, he wouldn’t hesitate. That’s how it goes.

And as for Gao Yang, he’s more than ninety percent sure that Grand Ivan and Morgan would join because this isn’t seeking their help, but rather offering them a very attractive prospect.

Justin will certainly verify whether the Solar System Company actually involves Grand Ivan and Morgan, but that doesn’t matter; by the time Justin starts checking, Grand Ivan and Morgan will have joined.

Justin wasn’t entirely satisfied with the terms Gao Yang offered, but he accepted them because, for the Cicero Family, the revenue from a PMC Company isn’t important; having a stake in a very competent PMC Company, and wielding influence over it, is what truly matters.

From the moment the cooperation agreement was reached, Justin’s provided intelligence would no longer be chargeable, which left Justin quite troubled as he said, "There are six mercenary groups in Yemen in total, Parloyer is one of them, under the dispatch of the Shah Intelligence Agency, any dangerous military actions are undertaken by Parloyer. The commission is one hundred and fifty thousand US dollars per day, the first contract period is for three months, and as of today, this contract has been in effect for twenty-seven days."

Gao Yang sighed and said, "Okay, Parloyer is out of the picture, tell me about the other five mercenary groups."

"Wild Wolf Mercenary Corps, mainly Russians and Eastern Europeans, totaling forty-six people. This number is precise and shouldn’t be doubted. Their main task is to protect the Shah’s Embassy in Yemen; they are stationed in two buildings near Shah’s Embassy, one across from it and the other on its left side. This mercenary group is very strong, be careful."

Gao Yang hurriedly jotted down the keywords in his notebook and then said, "Okay, please continue."

"There are another four mercenary groups, all tasked with protecting the current official government and Hadi. Two of them reside in the Presidential Palace regularly, one called Como Hansen Security Company providing accompanying protection for Hadi. It’s defensive in nature, with less than twenty people, considered a professional bodyguard team from America, very strong in capability.

The other is called Indomitable Will, with a varied mix of members, mostly Pakistanis and Iraqis, but the leader is American. The group is relatively large, with more than eighty members, but their strength is only average, the monthly commission for the mercenary group is only two million dollars, which fits their worth."

Once Gao Yang hastily finished writing, he said, "What about the remaining two?"

"The main task of the remaining two is still to protect Hadi, but they usually guard near the Zhengfu Building. One mercenary group’s details I haven’t clarified, their numbers and name are unknown, implying they aren’t strong nor numerous; otherwise, I would know.

The last mercenary group is called Falcon, its leader is a Shah person, with a diverse origins in its members, about fifty people or so, most closely connected with the Shah’s official government. The members have notable backgrounds, all retired personnel from renowned units, but the leader of this mercenary group has capability and conduct issues, so although the commission is relatively high, member turnover is extremely frequent, and combat morale is quite poor. Hence, I personally think this mercenary group’s strength looks impressive on paper but its actual fighting ability is very weak."

After Gao Yang still noted down the key information, he smiled and said, "Is there anything else you want to add? You seem quite familiar with these mercenary groups."

Justin also smiled and said, "Of course I’m familiar. I’ve had dealings and cooperation with all of the five mercenary groups, but the last Falcon mercenary group embarrassed me greatly; they botched a mission I intermediated, not only making me very embarrassed but also losing me a sum of money. It was one of only two failures in my career, the impression has to be deep."
