Chapter 427 - 426: What If She’s Not Allowed to Be with Him

Chapter 427 - 426: What If She’s Not Allowed to Be with Him

Aunt Sienna looked even more distressed, her eyes turning red with emotion, "Silly Bella, if Aunt Sienna is no longer around someday, what will you do if you’re bullied again?" Saying this, she reached out her wrinkled hand to wipe away Bella’s flowing tears.

Bella Acker could only release her emotions like a child, being willful and indulgent in front of this one family member. She wasn’t afraid of being mocked or appearing weak.

Bella Acker, with tears streaming, said sadly, "Aunt Sienna, I’m afraid Mrs. Sinclair won’t approve of me being with Damian. Damian is so filial, even if he withstands the pressure and ends up with me, he won’t be truly happy."

"You child, why do you always think of others first? Why can’t you be a bit selfish and think about yourself first?" Aunt Sienna also started crying as she spoke, walking over and embracing Bella in her arms, scolding her verbally but genuinely feeling pained inside.

Hearing Aunt Sienna cry, Bella Acker didn’t want her to share in her sadness and worry, so she forced her tears back and comforted her, "Aunt Sienna, no matter the difficulty, there will always be a way to solve it. I’m fine now; you should go check on Ethan. He should be waking up."

Aunt Sienna nodded and wiped away her tears, "Alright, I’ll go check on Ethan."

"Okay." Bella Acker forced a smile.

Aunt Sienna sighed and walked towards the room.

Bella Acker watched her increasingly hunched figure, and her forced smile faded away. She averted her gaze, afraid her tears would escape uncontrollably and worry Aunt Sienna.

The text message had been sent over ten minutes ago, with no response.

Damian must still be talking with Mrs. Sinclair, which is why he can’t reply to the message.

Bella Acker gripped her phone tightly, bearing the inner torment and anxiety, continuing to wait for the message.

Time passed slowly, twenty minutes, thirty minutes, an hour, two hours...

Until the sun set in the west and nightfall arrived.

Bella Acker sat in the dining hall, clutching her phone, waiting for Damian’s reply. The anxiety in her heart and the faint hope slowly sank into the abyss as time went by. The emptiness at the pit of her stomach made her feel restless, leaving her without the strength to stand.

Although she hoped Damian wouldn’t have conflicts with his family because of her, there was still a degree of selfish expectation. She hoped Damian could be a bit more supportive of her, at least... at least when his family doesn’t approve of them being together, he would encourage and comfort her in private.

But several hours had passed now; could they still be talking?

Bella Acker hesitated for a moment, then sent a text message to Bea.

"Bella, is Damian still talking with Mrs. Sinclair?"

A text message quickly came back from Bea, "You hadn’t left long when everyone went back to their rooms. Why? Didn’t my brother call you?"

Bella Acker read Bea’s text, and her heart skipped a beat, feeling as if it had quickly plunged into an icy abyss.

So the talk had ended a long time ago. He should’ve seen her message, right? Why didn’t he reply?

Bella Acker’s eyes turned red, tears welling up immediately. She widened her eyes, refusing to let the tears fall.

"No, he called. I was just worried they might argue tonight."

Bea’s reply came just as quickly, "Don’t worry, with my brother’s personality, it’s impossible for him to argue with my mom. Can’t chat anymore, my mom’s here in my room."
