Chapter 401: Part 1
Chapter 401: Part 1
"Look, it must be someone who looks similar, it can't be him."
"Are you sure? I just can't help feeling that it's the same person."
Song Miqiu watched the two people walk in, her smile growing wider, but she didn't go forward directly. Instead, she let go of the hand and continued with the food on the table as usual.
But the food that tasted good just now tastes completely bland now.
"Are you... really alright?"
Ming Taicheng remembered Song Miqiu's anger earlier, and his brows furrowed once again.
He tried several times to talk to someone, but dared not make a sound because of the other person's menacing way of putting something into their mouth.
By the time Song Miqiu came to her senses, the food on the table had been completely eaten. Just as she was about to get up, she felt her stomach bloated and almost vomited.
"You ate too fast just now, you need to rest for a while before you can move."
"I ate too much, I clearly..."
Ming Taicheng looked at the empty plates on the table, then awkwardly covered his rumbling stomach.
Unexpectedly, Song Miqiu blushed and waved to the waiter in the distance.
"Let's have some hawthorn tea, and then two more dishes."
"Good Le!"
"Wait, I've already tried all these dishes today, why don't we try another place?"
Song Miqiu remained silent, simply waving his hand to signal the waiter to go and prepare.
Unexpectedly, Ming Taicheng was about to say something else when a hand patted his shoulder, leaving him rooted to the spot.
"You're doing this..."
"You said it yourself, I need to rest now and it's inconvenient for me to move."
Ming Taicheng looked at the dishes that were quickly served, but eventually looked away and silently picked up his chopsticks to eat the food in front of him.
But before he could make a move, he heard Liuli's voice from behind.
"How about we go over there?"
"No need. If you have nothing to say, I will take my leave."
Seeing that Yu Huailin still wanted to leave, Liuli frowned and finally loosened her grip, looking helplessly in another direction.
"Your stepfather does have something he wants me to tell you, but this place is really not suitable to say it. Why don't we go to that private room?"
"it is good."
Yu Huailin stared intently into those light-colored eyes, and finally uttered a single word.
Liuli finally let out a sigh of relief, her gaze once again falling on the figure in the corner.
As if she had thought of something, a smile curved her lips.
Noticing her change, Yu Huailin wanted to look at her, but was interrupted by a voice from the side.
"This way, please."
"What exactly is the matter? Why don't you tell me the general idea first?"
Liuli chuckled softly, shook her head, and strode forward with Yu Huailin.
Just as he missed Song Miqiu, he suddenly stopped and walked straight past her.
"What a coincidence, to run into you here."
"It is quite a coincidence that you two are going to dine again?"
Song Miqiu spoke calmly, poured himself a cup of tea and drank it down, then smiled again and pointed to the empty seat next to him.
"Why don't we go together?"
"Won't this bother you?"
Seeing Song Miqiu shake his head indifferently, Liuli's smile grew even brighter, but she suppressed her smile when she looked at Yu Huailin.
What do you think?
"Need not."
Yu Huailin had already seen the two of them with their brows furrowed and was originally about to agree, but when An saw Song Miqiu's appearance, she suddenly changed her mind.
Unexpectedly, Liuli was stunned at first, but then, from an angle where no one else could see, she gave Song Miqiu a victorious smile.
She glanced at him briefly, then looked away and stared indifferently at Ming Taicheng.
"How was the meal? I'm still feeling a bit unwell. How about you come for a walk with me?"
"Row."
Although Ming Taicheng couldn't guarantee that he understood the other party 100%, he could sense that Song Miqiu was somewhat displeased. He put down his chopsticks and led his men out.
Yu Huailin stared intently at the two figures as they left before turning his gaze to Liuli, who was feigning innocence beside him.
"Do we still need to go to a private room?"
“Of course it is necessary; I haven’t told you what my stepfather said yet.”
Or should they release the person and explain the misunderstanding on the spot?
Liuli glanced out the window to make sure the two had turned and left before she looked away with satisfaction and led the people up to the quieter second floor.
For some reason, he felt uneasy. He tried to look outside several times, but he could no longer find anyone. His brows furrowed involuntarily.
But it was only for a moment, and then he concealed all his emotions in his eyes, looking indifferently at Liuli in front of him.
Sensing the other party's sudden change in attitude, she felt a little nervous, but only for a moment before her expression returned to normal.
“There are some very special dishes here. Why don’t we try them and talk while we eat?”
“I have other things to do. If you have nothing else to do, you can stay and enjoy it by yourself.”
Upon hearing this, Liuli pouted in dissatisfaction, and after a long while, she handed him a letter.
After Yu Huailin disassembled it, he quietly told her about the old eunuch's arrangements.
However, he didn't absorb much of what they said; his attention was mostly on the letter in front of him.
"If that's all there is to it, I already know, so I'll take my leave first."
"Is this how you treat me? I went through so much trouble to bring this letter out."
Thank you.
Yu Huailin left behind this dry sentence, then got up and walked straight out.
He rushed home, but Song Miqiu was nowhere to be seen. His already raised eyebrows furrowed even more.
Why haven't they come back yet? Did something happen on the way?
The more he thought about it, the more he felt that he might be in danger. He turned around and wanted to go out, but then he saw a familiar figure walking straight towards him from the front.
Seeing no change in her expression, Yu Huailin stepped forward, but before he could say anything, she bypassed him.
"I can explain what happened today."
"What needs to be explained?"
Song Miqiu's eyes were still exactly the same as before, except that there was a hint of confusion in them.
Looking directly into those eyes, Yu Huailin didn't know why, but he felt himself being pushed further away, and couldn't help but reach out to grab the person.
But when he reached out, he grabbed nothing. When he came to his senses, he realized that the person had already walked around him and moved to the side.
"I've been busy today and I'm a bit tired. If there's nothing too important, I'll go to sleep now."
"It's all a misunderstanding today, she and I aren't..."
Before he could finish speaking, Song Miqiu pushed open the door.
"Why isn't even a candle lit? Is it because I haven't paid them enough, or do they simply not want to serve their master?"
"I'll go in and light it for you right away."
To Yu Huailin's surprise, Song Miqiu went straight into the room and closed the door.
