Chapter 2 is not a primitive tribe, but an orc tribe?
Upon hearing the burly man's words, the young man named "Wu" had no choice but to put down what he was holding and get up.
He wouldn't care about ordinary food, but since it was "the children's first hunt," as a shaman, he couldn't refuse something that represented the sentiments of his people.
The young shaman picked up Jiang Luoluo, who was sitting on the ground picking leaves, and used a soft, washed linen cloth to wipe the dirt off her hands before leading her to the door.
Because of his large size, the burly man would easily bump into the herbs on the shelves or on the ground while walking around the wooden house, so he just stood at the only spacious doorway and did not go inside.
He unwrapped the chunk of meat wrapped in grass stalks and some kind of large leaf, and without caring where he was, he sat down on the ground, drew a bone knife from his waist, and sliced the large, red-hot meat into pieces.
Jiang Luoluo stared in astonishment at the whole piece of meat that was as big as a basketball... How big of an animal must it be to cut such a large piece of meat from its body?
The three of them quickly devoured the piece of meat—most of it was eaten by the burly man, while Jiang Luoluo only ate a thin slice about the size of her palm, and the young witch ate a few more slices than her.
After Jiang Luoluo finished eating, she felt as if she were on fire, her whole body was warm, and her face was so hot that it was almost burning to the touch.
As for the flavor, you could say there was none at all. Apart from the natural meat flavor, there was only a simple salty taste, which was so bland that it was almost impossible to taste.
But it was this not-so-delicious taste that made Jiang Luoluo almost unable to stop after taking a bite, as if her body was instinctively craving food.
Seeing Jiang Luoluo's flushed face, the burly man laughed heartily and gently patted her shoulder with a hand bigger than her head. "Very good, your body is recovering well, you can even eat such a big piece of meat!"
Jiang Luoluo was slapped so hard that she almost fell over. She struggled to swing her chubby little arms and managed to sit back down.
The burly man watched the cub's adorable movements and laughed for a while until the cub finally sat up straight. Then he turned to look at the young shaman, his expression turning serious.
“Gorna told me that he wanted to raise Lo.”
“He’s only sixteen. He can barely support himself. How can we let him take care of another child?” The young shaman shook his head.
“Yes, but Wu, there are no families of suitable age in the tribe to adopt her… If this continues, she will have no choice but to live in the Fish Cave at the foot of the mountain.” The burly man spoke in silence.
"But she's like this..."
The young shaman interrupted the burly man, "I will heal her! Even if I can't, when she awakens, her reconstructed beast body will restore her to normal."
“That will take a long time, shaman.” The burly man looked helpless. “She’s only six years old. You can’t adopt her, and neither can I. The tribe won’t agree.”
The children adopted by the witch are then qualified to inherit the witch's position.
The children adopted by the leader are then qualified to inherit the leader's position.
That was a crucial decision that could determine the future of the tribe, and they couldn't make it lightly unless the child was "worth it."
The young witch looked at the bewildered cub listening to their conversation and sighed inwardly... She couldn't even speak, let alone communicate with anyone.
“Eagle and Yao are both warriors in the tribe…” The burly man’s voice lowered, unable to continue.
The young shaman was about to respond, but when he saw the cub's still bewildered expression, his face changed instantly.
"Luo!" The seriousness of the voice startled Jiang Luoluo.
Jiang Luoluo turned her head in confusion, unable to speak, she could only respond with this gesture.
"Don't you remember Ying and Yao?" the young shaman asked seriously.
Jiang Luoluo tried hard to decipher the few sentences of conversation to guess the identities of the two names, but after thinking it over, she couldn't figure it out and could only shake her head.
"And me?" the young shaman continued to ask.
Jiang Luolu shook her head, but then, remembering that the burly man had been calling her "Witch," she nodded. She roughly knew what "Witch" meant, having read many novels.
"And him?" the young shaman asked, pointing to the burly man.
Jiang Luoluo shook her head again.
The burly man and the young shaman exchanged a glance, their expressions filled with surprise and uncertainty.
"It's over, her brain has probably been fried..." the young shaman sighed. "I knew she was so quiet, turns out she doesn't remember anything."
"It's better if you don't remember, that's not a good thing." The burly man sighed, looking at the cub's carefree expression. "It's best if you never remember."
Then, the burly man leaned closer and looked at the cub seriously. "Listen carefully, Luo. My name is Jing, and I am the leader of the Yanshuang tribe. If anyone dares to bully you in the future, come find me."
"And there are Ying and Yao. Ying is your mother, and Yao is your father. You must remember them and never forget them."
Huh? Jiang Luoluo finally understood why the young witch reacted so strongly. Although her current body was that of a six-year-old child, children of this age could already remember their parents' names.
But she didn't react to either of those two names, which explains why she was noticed so quickly.
But judging from her tone, have her parents already passed away? Jiang Luoluo thought of the towering flames and the boy's shouts from that night.
Was it because of a fire?
No, she remembered hearing many wild animal roars. Could it be because of a wild animal attack?
After all, they were a primitive tribe...
"Grow up strong, become a powerful orc warrior, just like your parents, and become a hero of the tribe," Chief Jing patted the cub's head and blessed it.
Jiang Luoluo suddenly looked up, her eyes wide. What? What did she just hear? Orc warriors?!
Did she travel to a tribe of beastmen instead of a tribe of primitive people?
Neither Chief Jing nor the young shaman paid any more attention to the cub's reaction—who would really treat a six-year-old cub who couldn't speak and could only stare wide-eyed or shake her head from side to side as an adult and have a serious conversation with her!
“Then we’ll have to let Go take care of Luo.” The young shaman’s expression was complicated, seemingly for the cub Luo in front of him, and also for the boy named Go.
"That wasn't his fault, he didn't need to..."
Chief Jing shook his head. "Ge won't accept that explanation. He's a good kid. As far as he's concerned, he brought the things back, so it's his fault."
“That’s why he wanted to raise Luo…after all, Luo is the only one…” The young shaman suddenly stopped talking. Some things, even when facing an innocent child, cannot be easily said.
"Remember to take good care of them," the young shaman changed his mind.
"You don't need to tell me that, Wu. I'm the leader." Leader Jing patted his chest, his voice hearty.
In Yu Jiangluoluo's eyes, he was like a blazing flame shining in front of the tribe, protecting its people—hot yet warm.
