Chapter 69 Feelings heat up
Chapter 69 Feelings heat up
Sunlight streamed through the thin white gauze, warming Hua Meimei's face.
She slowly opened her eyes.
Looking at the surrounding environment, I was unable to regain my senses for a moment.
unfamiliar environment.
When she realized there was someone lying next to her, she turned her head to look and saw that it was Luo Jiuyu.
His arm was around her as she slept soundly.
He was exhausted after several rounds of intense fighting last night.
His cheeks were so rosy, he looked so cute, like a little baby.
She smiled secretly; the guy looked so docile as he slept. Where was the wildness he displayed when he was at his peak?
She reached out and poked his abs, counting them one by one, and found there were eight.
She hadn't seen him work out at Zhenlongtai.
Does he usually go to the gym?
"What are you doing?" the man murmured, his voice languid and sexy. He moved his head and slowly opened his eyes.
"What should we do? We're all going to be late for work," she said, frustrated.
I overslept, and the sun was already high in the sky.
It's probably around 10 o'clock.
I'm so hungry too.
“What are you afraid of? It’s okay if you don’t go for a day. You’re the boss,” he reminded her.
“Yes, I’m the boss. I’ll go to work this afternoon.” She chuckled, clinging to his arm. “But I’m hungry. Shall we get up?”
"Okay, sure." He ruffled her hair. "Don't go to work today."
"What are you going to do if you're not going to work?"
"Play."
"playing what?"
“You can drive a luxury car and speed through the streets, take a flying car or helicopter to the nearby mountains to see the scenery, or fish in the lake in your backyard.” He offered her several options. “If you’d like to spend a few more days traveling, we can take the plane from home to go abroad.”
"That all sounds great. What luxury cars do you own? Do you have flying cars like the ones your company makes here?"
He sat up, his handsome eyes glazed over as he looked at her. "It's not my home, it's our home."
She thought for a moment and said, "Jiuyu, let's continue living our original lives as before. What you earn is yours, and what I earn is mine."
"Huh?" He was a little puzzled. "Why do we have to distinguish them so clearly?"
"Let's continue to keep our marriage a secret, and not go public unless absolutely necessary." She was just not used to the sudden change in their relationship.
"Berry, you still don't want to accept me?" He frowned.
She had her own concerns: "I'm not... Now that you've become a public figure, you'll be appearing in the public eye frequently in the future. I don't want to be associated with you for the time being; the pressure is too great."
He was so outstanding and dazzling that she wasn't ready to become Mrs. Luo in the truest sense.
Making only the berry-flavored ones would be easier.
After hearing Hua Meimei's words, Luo Jiuyu remained silent for a moment, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes, but he quickly returned to normal.
He gently rubbed the back of her hand and said softly, "Meimei, I respect your decision. We don't have to go public yet, as long as you're by my side."
Hua Meimei felt a warmth in her heart, and squeezed his hand back, saying apologetically, "Give me some more time, I'll get used to it slowly."
Luo Jiuyu kissed her forehead, got up and got out of bed. "Let's go eat first. What would you like to eat? I'll have the kitchen make it."
“Anything is fine, you know I’m not picky about food.” Hua Meimei also got up and followed him out of the bedroom.
Inside the restaurant, sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the dining tables, and the exquisite plating whets the appetite.
The two chatted about their "fun plans" while eating.
Fishing in the backyard was too cold, so that was out of the question.
The trees on the mountain have all lost their leaves, so there's not much scenery to see. There's also no snow, so no snowscapes. Pass on.
The swimming pool in the front yard wasn't filled with water because of the cold weather. (Pass)
She's been too busy with work lately to travel abroad, so that's out too.
"Then let's go rioting the streets." He touched his brow.
"What kind of cars do you own?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Come on, let me take you to the garage to pick out a car. Whichever one you like, you can drive it to work from now on, and you can drive a different one every day."
He led her to sit in the patrol car.
This time, the driver wasn't a security guard, but a humanoid robot, made entirely of silver metal, with black eye sockets that emitted a red light.
The robot greeted her with a smile: "Hello, Mrs. Luo, my name is Jack."
“Jack?” Berry looked at it in surprise. “How did you know I was Mrs. Lowe?”
"Your master has already entered your personal information into my brain."
Luo Jiuyu smiled slightly, "Let's go, Jack."
“Yes, Master.” Jack started driving the patrol car, leading them towards the garage.
During this time, Hua Meimei's phone rang twice, both times from her assistant Huang Ya. She gave a few brief instructions and then hung up.
Seeing this, Luo Jiuyu teased, "It seems that without you as the big boss, your company really can't function properly."
“There’s nothing we can do, that’s how it is in small companies,” Hua Meimei laughed. “Unlike your big company, where you have so many capable people to share the burden.”
"No. It's because my wife is so capable that the company can't do without you." Just as they arrived at the garage door, he took her hand and got out of the car.
She followed him into the garage and was stunned to see a row of luxury cars.
They were arranged in order, just like she was browsing a car dealership.
Every car was brand new, reflecting a dazzling light under the lights.
Hua Meimei's eyes were wide open, captivated by the Lamborghini's coolness, the Ferrari's handsomeness, and the Rolls-Royce's prestige and grandeur.
There are also several limited-edition, cool supercars that you can't usually see, and you can't find them online either; she doesn't even know their names.
"Which one do you like?" Luo Jiuyu leaned closer to her. She smelled wonderful, a blend of fir wood and fruit.
"I like them all." She made no attempt to hide her preferences; she truly liked them all.
Who can resist the allure of these luxury cars?
"Then we'll take turns driving each day." He raised his hand and tapped her small nose, his eyes full of doting affection.
"You have so many nice cars, why did you only drive the one you gave me before?"
He coughed lightly and said in a serious tone, "Frugality and thrift are traditional virtues."
"Stop fooling around, Luo Jiuyu!" she said, both amused and exasperated. "Are you afraid that if you flaunt your wealth, people will ask you for money?"
As soon as she said it, she suddenly remembered that she was the one who owed him money, and then she made a sewing motion around her mouth with her hand.
Luo Jiuyu was amused by her actions. "Don't worry, that ten million is your pocket money. You don't need to pay it back."
He never mentioned asking her to repay the money, yet she was so anxious.
"I'll pay you back before the Lunar New Year, once the company's sales revenue arrives. A loan repaid is a loan easily repaid." Hua Meimei winked at him. "Maybe I'll borrow money from you again next time."
She cannot guarantee that her company will not face operational difficulties again.
Doing business is inherently risky.
"Berry, can you please stop being so calculating with me like before?" he said softly, his brow furrowing.
“I know you value your berry company. Just keep it running, and let me know if you encounter any difficulties. I’ll have Gao Peng send you a check in a couple of days.” He kissed her forehead. “Your new allowance.”
"If you don't want to run your own company in the future, you can come and work for my company. Of course, there's another option." He paused for a moment after saying that.
She asked with great interest, "What choice?"
“Choose to lie flat in my arms, and I’ll take care of you.” He smiled and hugged her.
The last option was the easiest for her. But knowing her as he did, he knew she might not agree.
He knew she didn't like relying on others and was a strong-willed girl.
"I'd rather focus on running my company well. Relying on others is unreliable; they may crumble or run away." She refused the last option.
He patted her head. "I knew you wouldn't just lie around doing nothing. Your resourceful nature makes you a great entrepreneur. Keep up the good work, I have faith in you, Ms. Hua. Also, I'm very reliable, I won't run away."
"Thank you for your kind words, Mr. Luo," she said, echoing his words.
They both couldn't help but laugh.
"Do you like that Pagani?" he asked, pointing to a black car not far away.
She didn't know much about cars, so she asked, "How much does this car cost?"
"The total cost is approximately 100 million."
"Ah..." she shook her head like a rattle-drum, "I'm too scared to drive it."
What if it breaks?
"Don't worry, you're not familiar with it, I'll drive. I'll take you for a drive."
She didn't want to choose the most expensive or unique cars, as they would be too conspicuous on the street, so she picked a relatively common luxury car instead.
"Is that the Valkyrie?" She pointed to a green car she recognized. That's it.
"How about we get another one?" he asked, looking worried.
"Oh, you're too tall, it's hard to even fit you in and drive. So why did you still buy it?"
"It's for you." He smiled. "This car only arrived a few days ago."
