Chapter 38 Paula said: I didn't see it.
"Where? Where?"
"Take it out now, take it out!"
Jung-hwan and the dollfish urged him impatiently.
Deok-sun reached out and removed the candles, preparing to cut the cake.
The birthday celebration was a mess; only Aze sat there blankly, and apart from blowing out the candles, it was as if he had just gone through the motions... Urged on by Jung-hwan and Dolphin, Aze took out the wine he had received as a gift during his trip to China from his bag.
"Oh! Moutai!" Zheng Huan picked it up and examined it, then pronounced it fluently in Chinese; it seemed like that was all he knew how to pronounce the name of the liquor...
"Shuyu! Shuyu! Look, look!" The giant salamander took it over and didn't forget to let Liu Shuyu, a genuine Chinese, authenticate it.
"What problems could there be with what Aze received as a gift!" Liu Shuyu waved his hand, refusing to accept it.
As soon as he finished speaking, the salamander and Jung-hwan hurriedly took out their glasses and poured wine.
After a night of celebration, everyone except Deok-sun, who was eating cake, lay on the floor with slightly flushed faces.
"You're already drunk after only a little? I thought you guys could really hold your liquor." Deok-sun shook the bottle and complained to the others.
"Heh~ Why don't you try it? You'll drink yourself to death!" Jung-hwan provoked Deok-sun.
"You underestimate me?" Deok-sun said defiantly.
He held the Moutai bottle, shook it a couple of times, and poured out a small sip of the liquor.
The group all looked up at her.
"Hey! Deok-sun! It's spicy, don't drink it!"
"Shh!!" The giant salamander covered Liu Shuyu's mouth to stop him from speaking.
"Hey, you rascal, let her try it." Jung-hwan looked at Deok-sun with great interest, tilting his head back to signal her to drink.
"Tch~~" Deok-sun didn't believe in superstitions, and even Liu Shu-yu's reminders were useless; she was just a little stubborn.
"Hey! Deok-sun~" Liu Shuyu didn't even have time to speak before Deok-sun tilted her head back and downed the liquor in one gulp. This girl was too bold, she downed the liquor in one go...
"Ah~~~!!!"
"You guys! You're asking for it!!"
Deok-sun couldn't stand the spiciness and started yelling.
He scrambled out to find water, and Liu Shuyu quickly got up and followed him out.
"Shuyu, you care too much about Deoksun~" the dollfish teased.
“Of course, Seowoo likes Sung Deok-sun~” Seonwoo said with a smile.
Aze opened his eyes groggily, glanced up slightly at Sunwoo and the dollfish who were talking, and then slowly lowered his head again.
"Hehe~ I don't know what makes Deok-sun seem like a woman, that anyone would like her!" the dollfish quipped.
“Hehe~~” Sunwoo seemed to remember something, he just smiled and didn’t say anything.
Jung-hwan didn't want to say a word the whole time; he just wanted to finish his drink and lie down quietly...
"Pfft~~" The salamander stuck out its butt.
"Hey you brat! You farted again!"
"What are you doing! I really..."
"Can you please stop farting?! Seriously..."
The giant salamander's antics caused the group to spring to their feet as if they had risen from the dead, and they resisted by pushing the giant salamander aside...
The giant salamander covered its mouth and laughed wildly...
Paula's House
"Okay, Shuyu, I'm fine now~"
Liu Shuyu escorted Deok-sun to her doorstep, and Deok-sun looked down, stepping on ants, and said...
"Hmm~ Deok-sun, don't be so reckless next time, you might hurt yourself~"
"Okay, okay, stop lecturing like Sung Bora~"
Deok-sun gave Liu Shu-yu a sarcastic remark with a slight smirk.
"Hmm~ Heh~ I'm going back now?" Liu Shuyu said to Deok-sun reluctantly.
"Mmm~" Deok-sun nodded.
"Hey~ Shuyu!"
"Ok?"
Deok-sun called out to Yoo Seo-woo, and just as Yoo Seo-woo turned around, Deok-sun suddenly came up and kissed him!
"Bang!" Deok-sun slammed the door shut.
Liu Shuyu stood outside the door, touched the spot where Deok-sun had kissed him, staring blankly for a moment before his face turned bright red. He then went back inside with a silly grin.
Behind the door, Deok-sun's face was flushed, as if the kiss had used up all her strength. She leaned weakly against the door and smiled foolishly.
"Hey? Sung Deok-sun? What's wrong with you?" Bora happened to come out to brush her teeth and wash her hair. She saw Deok-sun leaning against the door with a lovesick look on her face and couldn't help but tease her.
"I'm fine!" Deok-sun immediately composed herself, instantly returning to normal, and ran back to her room with her eyes darting around.
"Crazy~ Something's definitely wrong~" Paul stretched out his hand and opened the door, saw nothing outside, and closed the door again in confusion.
Deok-sun sat in a chair in the room, excitedly swinging her legs.
She peeked outside the door and heard Bora still brushing her teeth, not even having started washing her hair yet. Deok-sun then sweetly pulled out her diary.
"The love I've been longing for has finally arrived. He's like a gift from heaven. He cares for me so much. He makes me many loving bento boxes. He's always there for me when I'm sad. Today, I finally couldn't resist kissing him. Just like in the book, I don't know why I'm so brave. Maybe it's the power that the god of love has given me!"
Deok-sun closed the diary and placed it on her desk, the smile lingering on her lips...
"Hey! Sung Deok-sun, go wash up!" Bora walked in, drying her hair.
"Oh~" Deok-sun happily took the towel and walked out.
"Something's definitely wrong~ Why are you so happy?"
Paula wondered to herself.
Hearing Deok-sun brushing her teeth outside the door, Bora hatched a plan. She crept to Deok-sun's desk, quietly opened the drawer, and took out her diary...
"Wow~" Paula covered her mouth, trying to suppress her laughter, and rolled forward twice.
"Click~~" A moment later, Deok-sun returned after washing up, and the door was pushed open.
Paula casually put down her diary and closed the drawer.
Deok-sun saw her sister Bora sitting at her desk and just closing the drawer. Her smile froze instantly. She quickly walked to the desk, opened the drawer, and saw her diary on it.
“See?” Deok-sun stared at Bora.
"What?" Paula pouted, pretending to be dumb.
"My diary!" Deok-sun pressed.
"I didn't see it," Paula denied, looking down.
"Didn't I already see it?!" Deok-sun said, disbelieving.
"I already said I didn't look at it, stop arguing~" Bora's voice was still relatively gentle. It seemed that she was a little guilty for being caught peeking at her sister's diary and was afraid that Deok-sun would find out, so she still denied it.
"I'm calling my own name, what's it to you!" Deok-sun noticed her sister's shifty gaze and realized something was wrong, so she started picking a fight.
"Stop making noise~" Bora was indeed provoked by Deoksun, and her voice became much louder.
"Did you watch it?!" Deok-sun pressed on.
“I didn’t see it!!!” Paula retorted without hesitation.
"Mom!!!" Deok-sun shouted angrily at her mother, wanting to tell on her sister.
Unfortunately, the mother was already used to their arguments and ignored them completely.
At night, the two sisters slept facing one side, but Deok-sun didn't sleep.
"You've seen it, haven't you?" Deok-sun asked calmly, still bothered by her sister's peek at her diary all night.
"I already told you to stop arguing~" Bora was speechless. This was the umpteenth time Deoksun had asked, and Bora was getting exasperated by her persistence.
"Look!"
"I didn't see it~"
"Sigh~" Deok-sun struggled all night without finding a solution, sighed, and closed her eyes.
