Chapter 398 Job-hopping

February arrived quickly, the day of Zhang Yimei's wedding.

Zhang Mei got up early in the morning, put on the brand-new clothes she had specially prepared, feeling both nervous and expectant.

She carefully tidied herself up, looked at her slightly shy yet happy reflection in the mirror, and a smile unconsciously crept onto her lips.

The wedding was simple, but filled with warmth. Friends and family came to offer their blessings, and the small room was packed with people.

After the ceremony, everyone sat together, eating wedding candy, drinking wedding wine, and enjoying the food, celebrating in a lively atmosphere.

The day after their wedding, Zhang Yimei and her husband checked their home and found that some things were missing, so they bought some new items.

They went to the market and picked out new bowls, chopsticks, and blankets, and also bought some simple furniture.

After resting for two days, the couple went back to work on the third day.

During the two days she was on leave, the owner's second younger brother, Li Yuan, came to help out at the shop. The owner, Sister Li, didn't have time to stay at the shop because she had to deliver ordered materials to the school.

Li Yuan only came to help pack up and lock the door after get off work; he didn't really do much.

As it was almost time to leave work, Li Yuan locked the door and handed the key to Yun Ya, telling her to come and open the door the next morning.

Because they weren't busy, they left work an hour early today. Yunya happily went home.

Yunya felt a little uneasy being watched by the boss's younger brother all afternoon, since the boss was usually not in the store and they were very free.

Yunya was definitely nervous that the boss's younger brother was here to supervise the work. But everything was fine; thankfully, he wasn't as serious as the boss, Li Yong, otherwise Yunya would have been even more uncomfortable.

Zhang Yimei noticed Yun Ya's worry, patted her on the shoulder and said, "I've already rented the storefront. All that's left is to stock up on goods and set up the store."

I've carefully scouted this area; it has high foot traffic, so a bookstore there's bound to be a good business. Besides, I've saved some money, and I can borrow some more from my family, so funding shouldn't be a problem."

As Yunya listened to Zhang Yimei's clear and logical explanation, her initial shock gradually turned into admiration.

She thought to herself, "Zhang Yimei is really bold; she dares to think and act."

"Yun Ya, would you be willing to help me?" Zhang Yimei suddenly asked.

Yun Ya was stunned, then a glimmer of light flashed in her eyes, but it quickly dimmed again. "I... I'm afraid I won't do a good job, and I'll have to tell the boss here that I'm resigning."

Zhang Yimei encouraged him, "I believe in you, and I will teach you. Let's work together to make the bookstore a success, and we'll definitely have a good life in the future."

Yun Ya bit her lip, thought for a moment, and then nodded firmly, "Okay, I'll do it with you!"

The new girl was the same age as Yunya, and after learning from her for a day, she was almost able to work independently.

On the third day, Zhang Yimei resigned and left to fully dedicate herself to her new store. Sister Li didn't try to persuade her to stay; her heart wasn't in it anymore, and even if she stayed, she wouldn't put in her best effort. What was the point of keeping her?

Yunya stayed for a few more days until the new employee was familiar with the job before leaving.

She arrived at Zhang Yimei's new bookstore, which was already quite well-decorated.

The bookshelves were neatly arranged, with various books displayed in an orderly manner, and Zhang Yimei was busy setting things up.

Upon seeing Yun Ya arrive, Zhang Yimei excitedly exclaimed, "Yun Ya, you've finally arrived! Our bookstore will be opening soon!"

In the days that followed, the two began cleaning the new store. On opening day, firecrackers went off, and the small bookstore welcomed its first customers.

Although there weren't many customers at first, Zhang Yimei and Yun Ya were not discouraged. They greeted each customer warmly and patiently recommended books to them.

Yunya officially started working at Zhang Yimei's shop, but she forgot the most important thing.

The issue is that her salary wasn't agreed upon with Zhang Yimei.
