Chapter 103 My Thoughts Are in Turmoil
The morning sunlight streamed into the office through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Lin Chuyue sat at her desk, flipping through the documents in her hands. Her assistant, Xiao Zhang, knocked on the door and came in, carrying a steaming cup of coffee.
"President Lin, this is today's schedule." Xiao Zhang handed the documents to the table, his tone tinged with excitement. "President Li will arrive at ten o'clock, and the meeting room has been arranged."
Lin Chuyue raised her head, her brows furrowing slightly: "Li Zhanchuan?"
Xiao Zhang nodded: "Yes, he will personally participate in the preliminary discussions regarding the cooperation plan."
"Okay, I understand." Lin Chuyue looked away, casually flipped through her schedule, and said calmly, "Pass the word that they should not disturb me before the meeting."
Xiao Zhang acknowledged and withdrew.
Lin Chuyue leaned back in her chair, her gaze drifting through the window to the distant high-rises. The sun shone brightly, but her heart was filled with complex emotions. Li Zhanchuan's personal visit this time was clearly significant, going beyond mere business considerations; every act of assistance he offered carried a strong personal element.
“Li Zhanchuan…” she murmured his name, her fingertips gently tracing the edges of the document, a hint of hesitation appearing between her brows.
The atmosphere inside the meeting room was tense and serious. Li Zhanchuan arrived on time, accompanied by his assistant Xiao Ning and several project managers. Dressed in a dark blue suit, he walked with a steady gait, and his imposing presence made everyone instinctively hold their breath as he entered the meeting room.
Lin Chuyue stood up, a polite smile on her face: "President Li, please have a seat."
Li Zhanchuan nodded, sat down opposite her, glanced at the documents on the conference table, and said succinctly, "Since everyone is here, let's begin."
The discussion proceeded enthusiastically and efficiently, with Lin Chuyue remaining calm and composed. She clearly pointed out several key issues and offered her suggestions for revision. Li Zhanchuan occasionally interjected, clashing with her views, but he always maintained his composure, even glancing at her involuntarily a few times.
As the meeting drew to a close, Li Zhanchuan closed his notebook and fixed his gaze on Lin Chuyue: "President Lin, your suggestion is very valuable. We will adjust the plan as soon as possible."
Lin Chuyue smiled slightly and extended her hand: "It's a pleasure to cooperate with you, President Li."
Li Zhanchuan grasped her hand, applying slight pressure, and said softly, "Cooperation is just the beginning. I hope we can have more opportunities to communicate."
After the meeting ended, Lin Chuyue received a call from Gu Yanchuan.
"Chuyue, are you free at noon?" Gu Yanchuan's voice was as calm as ever on the other end of the phone. "I'm near your company and I was thinking of inviting you to lunch."
Lin Chuyue hesitated for a moment, then replied, "Okay, wait for me, I'll be right down."
She had just stepped out of the office when she bumped into Li Zhanchuan, who was about to leave.
"So eager to leave?" Li Zhanchuan looked at her with a deep gaze, a half-smile on his face.
"It's a personal matter." Lin Chuyue said calmly, looking up at him with a distant yet polite smile.
Li Zhanchuan nodded: "If there are any adjustments needed to the next cooperation plan, please feel free to contact me."
Lin Chuyue nodded slightly, turned and walked towards the elevator, her shadow stretched long by the sunlight. Li Zhanchuan stood there, watching the elevator doors slowly close, a deep meaning appearing in his eyes.
In the afternoon, Luo Yurou sat at her workstation, the documents on her desk neatly piled up. Despite the heavy workload, she remained focused, her brows slightly furrowed, as she quickly took notes while keeping an eye on the screen.
Gu Yanchuan walked out of his office and saw this scene, a faint smile appearing on his lips. He stood in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe, and casually asked, "Are you managing?"
Luo Yurou looked up at the sound of his voice, saw it was him, and quickly stood up: "President Gu!"
Gu Yanchuan waved his hand, walked to her desk, picked up a document and flipped through it: "Well done, keep it up."
"Thank you, Mr. Gu." Luo Yurou breathed a sigh of relief, a smile involuntarily appearing on her lips. "I will continue to work hard."
"But don't overwork yourself." Gu Yanchuan glanced at her, his voice unusually gentle. "After you finish this, I'll treat you to coffee."
Luo Yurou was taken aback for a moment, then nodded, her cheeks slightly flushed: "Okay."
After a long day at work, Lin Chuyue curled up on the sofa, casually scrolling through her phone. The day's busyness had temporarily come to an end, but her heart was far from at peace.
Li Zhanchuan's concern for her made her feel somewhat at a loss, while Gu Yanchuan's attitude seemed to become increasingly complicated.
"Feelings..." she sighed softly, put her phone aside, closed her eyes, leaned back on the sofa, and let her thoughts wander.
