Chapter 142 Trapped
Chapter 142 Trapped
On Monday morning, the Lin Group's technology department was brightly lit, with everyone intently watching their screens, on high alert. Today was the day the "Night Hawk" organization planned to launch its attack, and also the crucial moment for Lin Chuyue to lay her counterattack trap.
Lin Chuyue stood in the center of the command room, with Li Zhanchuan and Yan Bo beside her. The two men had solemn expressions and were holding their breath in anticipation.
"President Lin, the enemy's first wave of scanning has begun!" the technical director reported anxiously. "They are trying to breach our outer firewall."
Lin Chuyue nodded and calmly ordered, "Don't rush, let them test the waters, don't retaliate first."
Li Zhanchuan interjected, "Chu Yue's intention is to make them think that our system has no abnormalities or alertness, and further lower their guard."
The CTO took a deep breath and quickly adjusted the strategy: "Understood, disguise it as normal traffic and maintain stability."
A few minutes later, a dense stream of data suddenly appeared on the screen, and the attack frequency increased significantly.
"They've intensified their attacks," the technician warned.
Lin Chuyue's lips curled slightly: "Now, release the forged database."
Yan Bo immediately executed the order, uploading a pre-designed set of fake financial data to the bootstrap server. This data was not only complete but also contained hidden tracking code; whenever someone attempted to download it, the code would automatically lock their IP address.
"We've successfully lured them into a fake database," the technician exclaimed excitedly. "They're downloading it now!"
However, just as the technical team breathed a sigh of relief, the data stream on the screen suddenly became abnormal.
"Damn it! They've discovered the fake data and are attempting to reverse-engineer our core system!" The CTO's expression changed drastically. "The attack intensity has doubled!"
Lin Chuyue's heart tightened, but she quickly regained her composure: "Activate the backup plan, cut off all external connections, and simultaneously activate internal isolation."
Yan Bo acted swiftly, and a few seconds later, the external attack was temporarily blocked, and the office returned to silence.
Li Zhanchuan gazed at Lin Chuyue, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes: "As expected, calm and collected. Now, we have part of their IP address, which allows us to pinpoint their origin."
Lin Chuyue nodded and turned to the technical team: "Continue to track it down, don't overlook any clues."
Meanwhile, at the Gu Group's private cybersecurity center, Gu Yanchuan was working with an international cybersecurity expert to study clues related to tracking "Nighthawk."
"The other party's IP address shows multiple virtual nodes, but one of the connection points exposes the physical location," the expert said, pointing to the screen.
Gu Yanchuan narrowed his eyes and quickly ordered: "Lock down this address, hand it over to Lin's technical team, and tell them this is the breakthrough point."
Soon, Gu Yanchuan dialed Lin Chuyue's number.
"Chuyue, the 'Nighthawk' server node is located in a Southeast Asian country. This is information I just received and has been sent to your email." His voice was deep and calm, but it couldn't hide his concern.
Upon receiving the news, Lin Chuyue immediately deployed her technical team to conduct further investigations: "Thank you, Gu Yanchuan, this lead is very important."
“I can help with much more than this.” Gu Yanchuan’s tone softened. “If needed, I can use the Gu family’s local resources to take down their servers directly.”
Lin Chuyue smiled and said, "No need. I prefer to solve problems myself."
After hanging up the phone, Lin Chuyue felt a slight pang in her heart, but she immediately focused all her attention back on the battle at hand.
As the location became more precise, the technical team finally pinpointed the location of the "Nighthawk" organization's core server.
"Mr. Lin, their main server is located somewhere in Southeast Asia. We have already hacked into their system, but they still have one last layer of firewall," the technical director reported.
Lin Chuyue took a deep breath and said coldly, "Break through it and copy all their data."
Li Zhanchuan added, "Don't give them a chance to breathe; ensure all data is backed up in real time."
The technical team worked tirelessly, and for the next ten minutes, everyone held their breath, staring at the progress bar on the screen.
"Success! We've obtained 'Nighthawk's' core data, including their customer list and fund flows," the technician shouted excitedly.
Lin Chuyue's eyes lit up: "Immediately block our system to ensure that the other party cannot intrude again. At the same time, back up this data and hand it over to the legal department."
As night deepened, the Lin Group's crisis was finally averted. Lin Chuyue stood by the window, her eyes revealing a hint of weariness, yet also a triumphant gleam.
Li Zhanchuan stepped forward and handed her a glass of warm water: "It's finally over."
Lin Chuyue took the water and said softly, "This is just the beginning. We've destroyed 'Night Hawk's' network, but the mastermind behind it all, Shen Fang, is still lurking in the shadows."
“She’s already lost once, so the chances of her turning things around are slim,” Li Zhanchuan said in a low voice, his gaze fixed on Lin Chuyue’s face. “However, even if she makes a comeback, I won’t let you face her alone.”
Lin Chuyue looked up at him, her eyes softening slightly: "Thank you, Li Zhanchuan."
Li Zhanchuan smiled slightly: "What are you thanking me for? Protecting you is something I do willingly."
Lin Chuyue's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly concealed it: "Alright, let's clean up the mess. This battle isn't completely over yet."
Meanwhile, Gu Yanchuan was enjoying a drink alone in his office. Gazing at the night sky outside the window, he felt a mix of emotions.
"She doesn't need my protection anymore," Gu Yanchuan murmured to himself, raising his wine glass and swirling it gently.
Luo Yurou's image suddenly appeared in his mind, her clear eyes carrying a softness different from Lin Chuyue's. He smiled slightly and put down his wine glass.
"Perhaps, some things should be let go."
