The End Times as a Song

Chapter 56 Interesting People

Chapter 56 Interesting People

The fire spirit turned and spoke to the snow spirit in a commanding tone.

"Fire, don't talk about me, what about yourself?"

The snow sprite pouted, glared defiantly at the fire sprite, and retorted in a serious tone. Neither side would back down, neither willing to yield.

"Let's not talk about whoever is right...! As long as our master is well, that's all that matters."

The fire sprite retorted, then glanced at the snow sprite and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Too……!"

The snow elf looked at the fire elf and smiled in agreement.

The atmosphere instantly shifted from tense and uneasy to relaxed and at ease. The two elves breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at each other. Perhaps they realized that not being at odds was actually quite good.

"..."

After Lin Yin awoke, he remained silent. His eyes gradually lost their sparkle, becoming vacant and expressionless, emanating a chilling, demonic aura. He suddenly stood up, motionless.

"Master... what's wrong?"

The fire spirit noticed Lin Yin's unusual behavior and immediately flew over, circling around him and looking at his face with concern.

Lin Yin's eyes were lifeless. He mechanically twisted his neck, looked up, and reached out towards the direction from which the fire spirit had made its sound. Before the fire spirit could dodge, Lin Yin had its neck choked. The fire spirit struggled desperately to break free.

When the snow elf saw the fire elf being captured, she was momentarily paralyzed. After a long while, she belatedly stood up and stopped Lin Yin from shouting loudly.

"Master, what's wrong with you? She's your most beloved Huo'er...!"

The snow elf's eyes were filled with terror as she stared at Lin Yin, her blood freezing in her veins, unable to move. Only when she saw the fire elf about to be strangled did she regain her composure. The usually timid snow elf mustered her courage, stepped forward, and pried Lin Yin's hand from the fire elf's grasp, attempting to stop him from abusing the fire elf.

Unexpectedly, Lin Yin grabbed the fire spirit, quickly teleported to a spirit tree on the lake shore, pressed the fire spirit against the spirit tree and rubbed it, and the fire spirit immediately took human form.

The fire spirit looked at Lin Yin, struggling and resisting, but in her spirit form she was too weak. All her resistance was futile. In this way, the fire spirit, through her resistance, managed to buy herself a sliver of life. With tears in her eyes, she asked Lin Yin in bewilderment.

"Master, what's wrong with you?"

"I am Huo'er...!"

"Don't you recognize Huo'er?"

The weak fire spirit struggled to pry Lin Yin's fingers away, managing to catch her breath for a moment. She greedily inhaled the air, trying to wake Lin Yin.

Lin Yin's eyes were empty and bloodshot, showing no reaction whatsoever. She could see no hope for life in Lin Yin's empty eyes.

"Master, Huo'er..."

The snow elf then realized something was wrong. She immediately chased after the spirit tree and helped the fire elf pry Lin Yin's fingers away. She glanced into Lin Yin's eyes and involuntarily shivered. She felt that the Lin Yin before her was very unfamiliar, which made her inexplicably afraid.

Seeing the fire spirit still struggling in its death throes, she regained her senses. Her fear and unease seeped into her voice, each word reaching Lin Yin's ears.

"Master, this is Huo'er! Please let go! If you keep holding Huo'er like this, she'll be reduced to ashes! Xue'er, please, let go of Huo'er! I beg you!"

The snow elf used all her strength to help the fire elf pry Lin Yin's fingers away. Lin Yin seemed to be possessed, completely deaf to anything she said.
