Chapter 2231: Simulation game? (2)

From what I could see, it didn’t seem like there was anything special about these people either.

Since I couldn’t interact with them, the only thing that I could do right now was observe them.

While observing them, I found that these people really were quite basic.

It seemed like they were just staring out, seeing that they didn’t even seem to have a house.

Most of the civilization that I was watching over seemed to be living in caves and was still hunting and gathering for food.

It was like staring at the dawn of civilization with how primitive they were.

"So it’s not as if I’m set up to fail, it’s just that I have no way of interacting with them..."

After all, a civilization like this should be easy enough to guide since I knew how they would progress. The only thing that I had to do was make sure that they didn’t fall down the wrong paths and they would be able to develop on their own.

The problem was that I still didn’t have a way of interacting with them...

Since I had nothing to lose, I started tapping on the table in hopes that I would be able to do something with it. It was just that there wasn’t any kind of reaction that came from the screens.

It was as I had expected, they really were nothing more than screens that showed me this world.

Even if I were to tap on them, it wasn’t as if there was anything that would actually appear.

"Then what am I supposed to do here?" I said with a sigh before giving up on trying to tap the screens.

After looking around, the only thing that I could think of was trying to tap the screen with divine energy. It wasn’t as if I had been expecting anything, all I wanted to do was see if I could find anything about this screen with the divine energy.

"Boom!"

Before I could react, I found that there was a large bolt of lightning that suddenly fell to the ground.

It didn’t take long for a fire to start as there was a tree right where the bolt of lightning fell.

Not only that, it was quite close to where one of the tribes of primitive humans were living.

From what I could see on the screen, all of them seemed terrified of this sudden bolt of lightning. However, it also seemed like there were some that were curious about the aftermath that followed.

Since it wasn’t raining, there wasn’t anything to put out the flames.

As they stared at the flames, it was as if their eyes were sparkling.

Before this, they had eaten their meat and berries raw since they never used flames to cook their food. They didn’t even have the concept of using fire since they didn’t know how to harness it.

But seeing this fire in front of them seemed to inspire them.

There were some that brought branches over and placed them near the burning tree. When that happened, the flame spread from the tree and onto the branches that they were holding.

Only even if they had found a way to gather the flames, it wasn’t as if they knew what to do with the flames. This was a completely brand new thing for them that they still hadn’t figured out how to use yet.

However, at least they had the awareness of the flames now.

While that was happening, I looked at where my finger had made contact with the screen.

It was because my finger made contact with the screen that this bolt of lightning fell down, so that meant that there was a way to interact with this world.

It was just that if all the interactions that I used caused lightning bolts to rain down, then it wasn’t as if this would help me achieve my goal.

I had to figure out if I could control the way that I interacted with the world so I could use that power for good instead of destruction.

The only clue that I had figured out so far was...

"It’s related to the divine energy, huh?"

But so far, it seemed like the only thing that I could do was divine smite.

This did seem like something that a god was capable of, but it wasn’t helpful in my case.

"Less divine energy and more spread out?"

When I did this, there was something that appeared that caused a strange look to appear on my face.

After all, this interface that appeared was something that I was quite familiar with.

"Is this some kind of simulation game?"

It was like one of those old sim games with how there were all kinds of options of things that I could do. It was just that none of these options really applied to this case since civilization hadn’t developed far enough.

"What am I even supposed to do with this?"

That was all that I could think when I saw some of the stranger options that were available to me.

After all, it wasn’t as if I wanted to throw monsters at them.

Those were the options that were usually added to spice up one of those old games, but this really didn’t help my situation at all.

After thinking about it, I channeled divine energy into the screen once more.

As expected, the buttons changed as I willed them to.

The divine energy really was the key to controlling this screen.

However, it really felt strange to be controlling the people of this world like this.

For a moment, it really felt like what a god would be doing...

But I tossed those thoughts aside for now and focused on the world in front of me.

"I don’t know these people, but I have to do what I have to do for my people. At the very least, I’ll do all that I can for them."
