Chapter 392 - 347: The Magic Brew Brewing Plan and Giant Kado’s Ambition
He had Kado, who was unable to fly, lead the Hill Giant squad to continue onward to the south. He himself would take the flying unit to retrieve the Elemental Spring Water, then catch up with them from the air.
Once the groups reunited, their pace of travel inevitably slowed.
The Griffin Knights glided at low altitude, periodically dispatching a few of their own to scout the path ahead and to their flanks.
As for this journey to the Giant Dragon Realm, besides Master Marlin, the most excited person in the entire party was likely Kado.
The Hill Giant leader walked at the very front of the column, his steps noticeably lighter than usual.
Inside his massive head, a grand vision was currently taking shape.
One of the main objectives for this trip was to subjugate the Hill Giant tribe south of the Canglan River, the one he had mentioned previously.
Kado’s way of thinking was simple, even to the point of being naive.
He considered himself the Giant Leader, officially recognized by the Black Stone Territory.
’So, once we find that tribe with over a hundred Hill Giants and get them to submit to the Lord, those newcomers will naturally fall under my command as the Giant Leader.’
’Over a hundred... plus my own dozen or so...’
’That would mean over 120 Hill Giants!’
Kado calculated mentally as he walked.
’Over 120 Hill Giants, all lined up in a phalanx. Just the sight of them standing there would be enough to scare the enemy witless.’
’My "power" will surge to unprecedented heights.’
’At that point, my status in the Black Stone Territory... aside from the Lord and the handful of Lord Dragons, wouldn’t I be ranked right at the top?’
’That Ed guy is a great archer, sure, but he only has a few hundred of those Little Guy Knights under him.’
’But I’ll have over a hundred Giants!’
’One of my Giants can take on dozens of them!’
’No, a hundred of them!’
The more Kado thought about it, the more pleased he became. The grin on his face stretched wider and wider, and he even began to hum an ancient war song from his Giant Tribe. Though he was terribly off-key, his performance was full of spirit.
"Lord!"
Kado suddenly turned, his voice booming as he shouted to Raylo in his clumsy grasp of the human tongue.
"Once we find my kin, let me be the one to talk to them!"
Riding on Baofeng’s back, Raylo raised an eyebrow at his words.
"Oh? And how do you plan on doing that?"
"I’ll tell them!"
Kado puffed out his chest and declared proudly.
"Follow the Lord! You’ll get all the roasted meat you can eat, Armor that never breaks, and endless fights! And if anyone doesn’t listen, I’ll beat them into submission!"
This brutally simple declaration drew a few low chuckles from the surrounding Knights.
Raylo couldn’t suppress a smile either.
He appreciated Kado’s simplicity and loyalty, but this was clearly not how diplomacy worked.
"That’s a fine idea, Kado."
Raylo said with a smile.
"You’ll be the Vanguard Officer for the conquest of the Hill Giant tribe."
Kado didn’t know what a Vanguard Officer was, but he knew Raylo had approved of his proposal, and he immediately let out a cheer.
Brimming with motivation, Kado lengthened his stride, walking with a powerful swagger.
He was already imagining the magnificent sight of himself leading over a hundred of his Hill Giant "little brothers" in drills on the training grounds of the Black Stone Territory, then being inspected by the Lord.
A moment later, he started imagining himself leading his Hill Giant little brothers in formation. At his command, over a hundred Javelins would soar into the sky and shoot down the Giant Dragons overhead.
This thought made Kado grin, and he stole a glance at the orange cat squeezed onto Storm Griffin King Baofeng’s back with Moonlight and Coal Ball.
