Exclusive Pampered Wife: My Wife Came to My Door

Chapter 113 Has It Become Ugly?

Chapter 113 Has It Become Ugly?

The driver scratched his head and chuckled, "In all my years of driving, this is the first time I've ever met a CEO who's thanked me."

Chi Moqing nodded, picked up Yan Zuozuo, and headed home. The driver, seeing the loving couple, felt a little envious and took out his phone to call his wife, saying, "I'll buy you your favorite stinky tofu when we get back."

I don't know what was said on the other end of the phone, but the driver kept chuckling.

When they got home, Chi Moqing gently placed Yan Zuozuo on the bed. Perhaps the movement woke her up, because she groggily opened her eyes and looked around blankly. "Where am I?"

Chi Moqing was amused by her confused look and said softly, "We're home."

Yan Zuozuo looked around curiously, and it really was their room. She scratched her head, as if a little annoyed, "I've been sleeping more and more lately, honey, do you think I'm really becoming stupid?" Pregnancy makes you stupid for three years, right?

Chi Moqing chuckled and reached out to smooth her hair, saying, "My wife is adorable even when she's silly." He checked the time and coaxed, "You've only been asleep for about twenty minutes, go back to sleep."

"I..." She had barely opened her mouth when her stomach rumbled loudly. Time seemed to stand still. The two looked at each other, and the next second, Yan Zuozuo's face turned bright red.

Chi Moqing realized what she meant and chuckled as he pinched her cheek. "Hungry?"

Yan Zuozuo nodded shyly, but then quickly shook her head. "I...I'm not hungry. It's your little lover who's hungry." She blinked her innocent big eyes, looking eager to clear her name, and she actually seemed somewhat credible.

Chi Moqing looked at her amusedly, but didn't expose her. "Well, what would my little sweetheart like to eat?" As he spoke, he pressed his face against Yan Zuozuo's belly, as if he were really communicating with the little one.

Not long after, Yan Zuozuo felt a warm sensation on her stomach. Looking down, she saw Chi Moqing giving her a tender kiss, stroking her twice, and then saying to her in a serious tone, "My little sweetheart asked me to ask Mom what she wants to eat?"

Yan Zuozuo laughed loudly: "How come I didn't hear that? You two are really of one mind, father and daughter."

"Of course." Chi Moqing looked smug, reached out and touched her face, and asked softly, "What do you want to eat? I'll make you something."

Yan Zuozuo tilted her head and thought for a moment: "There's still chicken soup in the pot, why don't we cook some chicken noodle soup?"

"Okay, you sleep a little longer, I'll go cook some noodles." Chi Moqing helped her lie down before heading to the kitchen.

He took some greens from the refrigerator, then took out noodles and started cooking. Once the chicken broth was hot, he put the noodles in to cook, and when the noodles were almost done, he added the greens.

His phone rang, but he was busy stirring the noodles in the pot and answered it without even looking at it, "Hello, who is this?"

"It's me." Cai Qingqing's soft, gentle, and slightly resentful voice came from the other end of the phone.

Chi Moqing's face darkened noticeably. He put the lid on the pot and asked in a cold voice, "What is it?"

Hearing his indifferent voice, Cai Qingqing's eyes flashed with resentment. She said in a sarcastic tone, "We've been together for so many years. Even if we're separated now, do I have to call you only when I need something?"

Chi Moqing frowned. He was already used to Cai Qingqing's unreasonable behavior and didn't bother arguing with her. He simply cut off the signal and continued cooking noodles. He had never admitted to being in a relationship with Cai Qingqing; he had only tolerated her presence because of her resemblance to Yan Zuozuo. If she were smart enough, she would know to restrain herself and behave. The more she acted up, the more he would dislike her.

The noodles were almost cooked, so Chi Moqing added the greens. It would be ready to eat in a little while. But within just a few seconds, Cai Qingqing started making phone calls incessantly. Chi Moqing ignored her, turned off the stove, and began serving the rice.

But the phone kept ringing, and he was worried about waking Yan Zuozuo, so he picked it up without giving Cai Qingqing a chance to speak and said directly, "Cai Qingqing, is this really necessary?"

Cai Qingqing sneered: "Do you think I wanted this? If it weren't for you back then..."

"Because you drugged me, are you reaping the consequences?" Chi Moqing coldly interrupted her, saying contemptuously, "If you're calling just to reminisce about the past, I have no interest in listening. And you'd better not call again, otherwise I can't guarantee I can continue to keep your pregnancy and miscarriage a secret."

Chi Moqing was never one to drag things out. If he loved, he loved deeply, his heart and body devoted to only one woman, giving no other woman a chance. But if he let go, he was resolute, never to have anything to do with the past again. This was his principle, and also his love and responsibility to his wife.

"Heh." Cai Qingqing sneered, "Fine, let's not talk about the past, let's talk about the present. My father practically watched you grow up, he deserves a lot of credit for how you are today, right? And now you treat him like this, do you have no conscience at all!"

Her father will spend the rest of his life in prison. The Cai family is completely ruined. Even now, she worries about being recognized when she goes out. Her mother fell ill in the hospital after a fit of anger, and that bitch Cai Keren even went to the hospital to kick them and mock them while they were down. All of this is Chi Moqing's fault!

Chi Moqing wasn't surprised at all that she brought this up. He had given Cai Yaren a chance before, but the biggest mistake he and his daughter made was that they shouldn't have laid a hand on Yan Zuozuo. She was his woman, Chi Moqing's woman, and even he himself wouldn't bear to lay a finger on her. How could he tolerate others harming her? They only had themselves to blame.

He snorted coldly, "I don't offend others unless they offend me. Do I need to remind you and your daughter what you've done?" He paused, then placed the noodles in the dining room before adding, "Besides, how have I wronged him?"

Compared to their slanderous accusations and petty tricks, the materials he submitted were all irrefutable facts, and none of them wronged Cai Yaren in the slightest.

"You!" Cai Qingqing's face turned ashen with anger. Chi Moqing interrupted her impatiently, saying, "Think about what you did. I was just giving you a taste of your own medicine. Don't call me again." With that, he hung up.

Cai Qingqing was used to a life of luxury, and now that the Cai family had fallen, she naturally couldn't bear the thought of being penniless. This kind of pain would be more cruel than any other punishment. If she could behave herself, the matter would be over. But if she continued to cause trouble, he wouldn't hesitate to tell the media all about her past and the sordid things she and Madam Cai had done back then.

He exhaled a sigh of relief, then went to the bedroom to call Yan Zuozuo out for dinner. Yan Zuozuo was carried to the dining room by him, giggling, "You're making me feel like a princess."

"Princess?" Chi Moqing seemed troubled, placed the chopsticks in her hand, and looked at her with a mournful expression, saying, "What should I do? I want to serve you like an empress dowager."

Yan Zuozuo laughed even harder and said in a serious manner, "Little Chizi, serve me my meal."

"Alright!" Chi Moqing picked up another pair of chopsticks, blew on the noodles to cool them down, and then put them into her mouth. "Your Majesty, be careful, it's hot."

Yan Zuozuo laughed heartily, but after a while she became unhappy again. Her little face was sullen, and she looked at Chi Moqing with a wronged expression, as if she was about to cry.

Chi Moqing was taken aback and quickly asked, "What's wrong? Is it not to your liking?"

Yan Zuozuo looked up, her big, watery eyes full of accusation, "I eat your food, drink your drinks, live in your house, and even have you serve me, but I haven't done anything for you. I see you working hard every day, but I can't help you at all. I'm so useless." As she spoke, her eyes reddened.

Chi Moqing quickly wiped away her tears, amusedly pulled her onto his lap, and said affectionately, "Isn't there a saying that husbands are responsible for earning money to support the family, and wives are responsible for being beautiful? These are my responsibilities, and I am willing to do them, even if it is a sweet one."

"But I'm not exactly beautiful either." She became more and more aggrieved as she spoke, looking down at her bloated figure, tears welling up in her eyes, looking pitiful. "I don't care, starting tomorrow I'm going to cook for you, I'm going to be a good wife and mother."

Chi Moqing smiled but said nothing, kissing her cheek and feeding her bite by bite. After she was full, he helped her bathe and go to bed. But Yan Zuozuo couldn't sleep, flipping through magazines again and again, finding nothing interesting. So she snuggled into Chi Moqing's arms, pouting, and said, "Don't you think I've become really ugly since I got pregnant?"

Chi Moqing looked at her with amusement, knowing that pregnant women were very sensitive, but he hadn't expected them to be so adorably sensitive. He chuckled and gently stroked her back, "How could that be? My wife is even more beautiful than before she got pregnant."

"You're lying! I've definitely gained a lot of weight, and it's even hard for me to walk. I feel like an elephant." She had just looked in the mirror and stared at herself, feeling like she almost didn't recognize herself.

"I'm not lying, I'm telling the truth. Before, she was all bones and no flesh, but now she's all plump and soft, so lovely." As he spoke, his hands began to wander over her body.

Yan Zuozuo felt ticklish and dodged while laughing and scolding, "You big pervert, go away!" After he made such a fuss, she quickly forgot about her troubles with her out-of-shape figure.

Chi Moqing chuckled softly, nibbling at her earlobe with a wicked charm, saying, "I like you when you're chubby like this, it's gotten so much bigger here." His unruly hands lingered on her chest, and Yan Zuozuo's face flushed red. She pinched him hard and said irritably, "You rascal, your little lover is watching."

Chi Moqing laughed heartily, and the next second he kissed her small lips, whispering tenderly in her ear, "I'm telling her that her father loves her mother very much, and that our family will never abandon each other."

Yan Zuozuo was so intoxicated by his kisses and sweet words that she was completely blissful. She didn't even realize the cunning old wolf's thoughts when Chi Moqing took advantage of her the next second.

Chi's first rule for spoiling his wife: A wife is meant to be cherished; if you notice any unhappiness, nip it in the bud immediately.

Chi Moqing stared at Yan Zuozuo's sleeping face, his large, calloused hands gently stroking her. The image of Mu Yaoqian's malicious gaze from earlier that day flashed through his mind. He couldn't help but think of the death of Mu Tianyang's wife. Could it be that Mu Yaoqian was already old enough to remember things then, and harbored resentment towards Yan's mother? Otherwise, she had no reason to dislike them so much.

He lay down beside Yan Zuozuo, thinking that tomorrow he would have his assistant find someone to keep a close eye on Mu Yaoqian's condition. No matter what, he couldn't let Yan Zuozuo suffer even the slightest harm.
