Chapter 133 Entrustment
Chapter 133 Entrustment
The doctor came out quickly, and Yan Zuozuo and Chi Moqing rushed forward, grabbing the doctor's hand tightly and asking what happened.
The doctor gestured for them to calm down: "Generally speaking, benign tumors do not recur after removal. However, your mother's case is somewhat special, and we need to conduct further examinations."
Chi Moqing's heart sank. Although the doctor hadn't said it explicitly, he could tell from his tone that the tumor had likely recurred and was changing towards malignancy—the worst possible outcome. If the disease could be controlled, the situation would be manageable, but if it couldn't, the consequences would be unimaginable.
He pursed his lips and began to think about getting foreign experts to come as soon as possible, to ensure their safety no matter what, regardless of whether the situation had worsened.
Yan Zuozuo didn't quite understand what the doctor meant. She held Chi Moqing's hand tightly and asked, "What do you mean by 'the situation is special'? How special is it? Can it be cured?"
Chi Moqing gently patted her back, signaling her to calm down. He then glanced at the doctor, "Approximately when will we have the test results?"
"Tomorrow afternoon at the latest," the doctor said cautiously.
Chi Moqing nodded, glanced at Yan Zuozuo's flustered expression, and said softly, "I will invite a renowned international oncology expert to come and consult with domestic experts to see what the outcome will be. Don't worry, there are no conclusions yet."
Yan Zuozuo looked at him, bit her lip, and asked, "Tell me the truth, is it very serious?"
Chi Moqing smiled and said gently, "The doctor hasn't reached a conclusion yet, so I can't answer you right now. But everything should be alright, listen to me, don't scare yourself."
Yan Zuozuo felt uncertain and stood there blankly, not knowing what to say.
Chi Moqing held her in his arms and said in a gentle tone, "Zuozuo, believe me, let's pray for Mom together."
Yan Zuozuo nodded vigorously, but she was still a little dazed.
Chi's mother came over and hugged her: "Mo Qing is right, there's still no conclusion yet, let's pray together. Besides, medicine is so advanced now, and there are renowned experts from home and abroad consulting with us, what do you have to worry about?"
Yan Zuozuo glanced at Chi Moqing, then at Chi's mother, forcing a smile. But she couldn't help but tear up, burying her face in Chi Moqing's arms and weeping uncontrollably. She hadn't cried much before, but perhaps due to her pregnancy, she was becoming increasingly prone to tears.
Chi Moqing held her and gently comforted her.
Not long after, Mu Tianyang came out of the ward and asked them what had happened. Chi Moqing told him what the doctor had said, and Mu Tianyang looked worried. When he brought Yan's mother to the hospital, he was terrified, afraid that something might happen to her. Even seeing her weak and pale appearance just now made him even more worried.
I've already had one surgery; who knows if the risks of a second surgery will be greater?
The four of them stood outside for a while, waiting until they had calmed down before going in. Inside the ward, Yan's mother was already awake, feeling a bit unwell. When she saw them, she managed a weak smile, waved her hand, and said she was fine.
Yan Zuozuo felt even more upset seeing her like this, but in order not to frighten her mother, she still smiled and walked to her bedside, saying only, "Mom is fine, it's just that the doctor is being very responsible, so he wants you to stay in the hospital for a couple more days for observation."
Mother Yan smiled, but there was a hint of reproach in her eyes as she looked at Mu Tianyang. "I already said it was nothing, but you still told the children. Zuo Zuo is pregnant now, and there are so many germs in the hospital, yet you still made her go there."
Mu Tianyang smiled but didn't say anything. He poured her a glass of water and then asked, "Are you hungry? I'll go buy you something to eat."
Mother Yan nodded: "I am indeed a little hungry."
Mu Tianyang asked her what she wanted to eat, and Yan's mother thought for a moment and said, "Something light is fine, there's nothing in particular I want to eat."
Mu Tianyang nodded and turned to leave.
Chi Moqing quickly said, "Uncle Mu, you stay here with Mom, I'll go out to buy food."
Mu Tianyang didn't insist and let him go. Chi's mother went over to chat with Yan's mother, offering nothing more than words of comfort. Yan's mother was quite easygoing and chatted with her cheerfully.
Chi Moqing quickly returned with the food. He asked Yan Zuozuo to feed Yan's mother while he went to find Yan's mother's attending physician.
The attending physician recognized him and became exceptionally reserved and respectful. He explained Yan's mother's condition to him clearly and concisely, and finally sighed, "Although the test results are not yet available, there is a high probability that the tumor has worsened. Your family should prepare as soon as possible."
Tumors tend to recur and worsen very quickly, and they are not confident that they can control or cure them in time.
After getting a general understanding, Chi Moqing asked some questions about the risks of the surgery. The doctor answered very carefully and finally said, "With President Chi's resources, it shouldn't be a problem to have the surgery in the United States. If possible, we still support having the surgery there, since the risks are much lower."
Chi Moqing nodded and quickly returned to the ward. Yan Zuozuo was already asleep on the sofa. Chi's mother went out to buy things, while Mu Tianyang stayed with Yan's mother. Seeing him come in, Yan's mother gestured for Mu Tianyang to help her up.
"Mom, are you going to the bathroom?" Chi Moqing quickly helped her to the other side.
Yan's mother shook her head, trying not to wake Yan Zuozuo, and said in a low voice, "Let's go out, I want to talk to you." As she spoke, she glanced at Yan Zuozuo again, and walked outside with an IV drip in her hand.
Mu Tianyang pushed the support frame, while Chi Moqing helped her. Once they reached the bench outside, Mu Tianyang left first, leaving them alone. Mother Yan sat on the bench, staring blankly at the white wall. After a long while, she said, "Moqing, I know you and Zuo Zuo haven't been married long, and your relationship isn't very deep yet. But I can see that you love her and care about her very much. I feel very reassured leaving her in your care."
She smiled, took Chi Moqing's hand, and said earnestly, "It's Zuo Zuo's good fortune to marry you. Although things haven't been smooth sailing between you, it's precisely because of these experiences that your relationship will become stronger." It was because she trusted him that she didn't ask any more questions after all these messy things happened.
Chi Moqing understood what she meant and looked at Yan's mother seriously, "It is my blessing to be able to marry Zuo Zuo, and it is also a blessing for Zuo Zuo and me to have an open-minded mother like you."
Mother Yan smiled and said, "No matter what happens to you in the future, whether you are rich or not, remember that being happy and healthy together is more important than anything else. Everything else is external. Don't care too much about it or worry too much about it. Being safe and healthy is better than anything else."
Chi Moqing listened silently and nodded earnestly.
“I’ve always felt really sorry for Zuo Zuo. When she was little, everyone else had a father, but she didn’t. Even if she was bullied, she wouldn’t say anything when she got home. Later, when she grew up, she went to school and fell in love. I always hoped that she could just be simple, happy, and carefree. It didn’t matter who the other person was, as long as I loved her and treated her well. But I never expected that she would end up like me, meeting the wrong person.”
After a pause, Yan's mother sighed, but quickly smiled again, "But my daughter and I are both lucky. I met your Uncle Mu, and Zuo Zuo met you. I can see that she is truly happy. Mo Qing, Zuo Zuo may have many flaws; she may not be the most beautiful, the gentlest, or the most virtuous, but she has a kind heart. If you treat her well, she will treat you even better. She is a grateful child; if you give her a hug, she will give you her whole heart. What she wants is not your money or power, but just a simple and peaceful happiness. I hope you can understand this, truly treat her well, and walk hand in hand with her forever."
Chi Moqing squeezed Yan's mother's hand back, looking at her with a solemn and firm gaze, "I know, Mom, don't worry, I will make Zuo Zuo happy for the rest of her life."
Mother Yan smiled, "I believe you." Having said these words to Chi Moqing, she felt relieved, her eyes calm as she looked at him. But Chi Moqing felt something was amiss. He frowned slightly and asked worriedly, "Mom, do you know something?"
Mother Yan turned her head: "It's nothing. I just heard the doctor talk about my condition. Anyway, as long as I can see you and Zuo Zuo happy, I have nothing to worry about." She has lived to such an old age, and she has long since become indifferent to matters of life and death.
As expected, Chi Moqing looked at Yan's mother with a serious expression, "Mom, don't worry, I will ask the best experts to perform the surgery for you, and it will definitely be successful."
Mother Yan smiled and said, "I know, I want to live to be a hundred years old and help you take care of your children."
Chi Moqing smiled.
Since Mu Tianyang had already handed over the company to Mu Yaoqian, he had nothing to do now, so he stayed in the hospital, taking care of Yan's mother every step of the way.
Chi Moqing arranged for the hospital to arrange a Super V ward for them, which was fully equipped with a kitchen and living room, just like a small apartment. They also hired two special nurses to help take care of them, which made Mu Tianyang less tired.
Yan Zuozuo continued to come to the hospital every day with her large pregnant belly. Chi Moqing was very worried about her and asked Zhang Ma to stay by her side at all times. When Chi's mother had nothing to do, she would also accompany Yan Zuozuo, partly to take care of her and partly to comfort Yan's mother and tell her not to think too much.
Yan's mother and Chi's mother always had a lot to talk about. Sometimes, even when Yan Zuozuo fell asleep at the hospital, the two mothers would still be chatting away. However, as Yan Zuozuo's belly grew bigger and bigger, both mothers gave her strict orders: she could only come over for an hour each afternoon and then go back home; the rest of the time she had to stay home to rest and prepare for childbirth. Yan Zuozuo had no choice but to obey, especially since Chi Moqing strictly enforced the orders.
Chi's stock has already shown an upward trend, and the momentum is quite rapid. Chi Moqing has already acquired enough Chi's stock; now it's time to clean house. But none of that is urgent. His main task now is to stay with Yan Zuozuo and wait for their two little angels to arrive.
The consultation results for Yan's mother were in. Although there were signs of worsening, the condition was still under control. However, surgery needed to be performed as soon as possible to prevent the disease from progressing too quickly and delaying treatment. International experts also unanimously agreed that the surgery should be performed abroad, as the risks would be significantly reduced. Chi Moqing naturally agreed and immediately began arranging the trip abroad.
Seeing Chi Moqing's solemn and worried expression, the attending physician smiled and said, "It's clear that President Chi loves his wife very much." If he didn't truly love Yan Zuozuo, he wouldn't care so much about his family.
Chi Moqing smiled but remained silent, which reminded the attending physician of the widely publicized toilet incident and Cai Qingqing's subsequent outrageous behavior. Like most people, he had initially thought the clarifications were merely official statements, but now, he seemed even more inclined to believe them. Given how much Chi Moqing cared for Yan's mother, he was undoubtedly a loving and devoted husband.
Chi Moqing was preparing for her surgery abroad, but a problem arose with Mu Tianyang. It wasn't him, but Mu Yaoqian. Chi Moqing had a vague feeling that something was about to happen.
