Chapter 180 Rivals Bickering
Chapter 180 Rivals Bickering
"If you Su family have any anger, come at me! What do you mean by targeting Zuo Zuo?" Fu Zixin charged forward angrily.
Su Kang frowned slightly: "I'm sorry..."
"If 'I'm sorry' were useful, what would we need the police for? Luckily, Zuo Zuo is alright. If anything had happened to her, even ten of Su Fei's lives wouldn't be enough to compensate!" Fu Zixin now hates Su Fei to death. It's one thing to have ill intentions towards her, but now she's even targeting Yan Zuo Zuo with her malicious intent. It's really too much.
Su Kang looked apologetic: "I won't let Su Fei shirk the responsibilities she should bear."
"You won't let her escape? Then she should have gone to jail when she tried to threaten me with the child, instead of living until now!" During the time Fu Zixin was married to Su Kang, she suffered a lot of bullying from the Su family. She endured it because of Wang Kaijun's matter. She knew she was wrong, and no matter how much they bullied her, she gritted her teeth and didn't say a word.
But Sophie actually set her sights on her child, intending to use the child to threaten her. This made her hate her for the first time from the bottom of her heart. Now that Sophie has hurt Yan Zuozuo, she wishes she were dead.
Su Kang pursed his lips, a hint of sadness flashing in his eyes, not only for Su Fei, but also for himself and Fu Zixin. Why did they end up like this?
"I'm sorry..." He had promised to make her happy, but now, besides hurting her, he seemed to have given her nothing. Besides apologizing, he didn't know what else to say.
Fu Zixin sneered: "You don't need to apologize to me. Save your apologies for your daughter and Zuo Zuo!"
Fu Zixin was furious and pushed him aside as she walked toward the ward.
Su Kang was stunned for a moment, looking at Fu Zixin's resolute back, then suddenly strode over and grabbed her arm, saying, "Let's talk."
Fu Zixin's face darkened: "We have nothing to talk about. Don't forget, we've already signed the divorce papers."
Su Kang froze, regretting it the instant he signed. But Fu Zixin's attitude was resolute, leaving him unsure how to salvage the situation. On the day of the signing, Fu Zixin cut off all contact with him. He called her and went to see her, but she ignored him and refused to open the door. If he hadn't happened to run into her today, he would have been completely helpless.
"Let go!" Fu Zixin shouted rudely, "If you don't let go, I'll scream for help!"
Su Kang stared intently at her with his deep eyes: "Are you getting on the bus yourself or am I going to carry you up? We need to talk today!"
"You think we can just talk like that? Why should I listen to you!" Fu Zixin exclaimed, her eyes wide.
“I’ll count to three. If you don’t get on the bus, I’ll carry you up,” Su Kang said seriously. “One, two…”
Before he could even utter a word, Fu Zixin gritted her teeth and angrily got into the car. This was the hospital entrance, a place with people coming and going; how humiliating it would be if he were carried in there.
Once in the car, Fu Zixin didn't even look at Su Kang. She snorted coldly, turned her head to the window, and remained silent.
Su Kang pursed his lips, knowing she didn't like being threatened and was currently angry, so he didn't say anything and just focused on driving.
The small space was deathly silent. After an unknown amount of time, Fu Zixin felt oppressed and awkward. She gritted her teeth and said, "Where are you taking me? I still need to see Zuo Zuo. I don't have time to waste with you."
Su Kang pursed his lips, his face turning ashen. He only stopped the car in front of a coffee shop, and as if worried that Fu Zixin would run away, he got out of the car before opening the door for her.
Fu Zixin rolled her eyes, feeling annoyed as she watched Su Kang escort her into the coffee shop like a prisoner. She found a seat by the window, ordered her favorite coffee, and waited for him to speak.
Su Kang took a sip of coffee, his eyes darkened, and he said in a low voice, "I regret the divorce."
puff!
Fu Zixin almost spat out her drink, staring at him with wide eyes, "Do you think this is child's play? You think you can just back out whenever you want?"
“We haven’t officially divorced at the Civil Affairs Bureau yet. Right now, it’s just a divorce agreement, which doesn’t count as a divorce.” Su Kang said seriously, making Fu Zixin almost flip the table.
She was about to speak when her phone rang; it was the matchmaking agency. She glared at him before answering, "Hello."
"Hello, is this Ms. Fu Zixin? This is a matchmaking agency. Based on the mate selection criteria you signed with us, we have selected three suitable men for you. Do you have time this weekend so we can make arrangements for you?"
Fu Zixin blinked, glanced at Su Kang, nodded and said, "I have time. I'm free this weekend, you can decide on the time."
"Alright, we'll confirm the time with the man and then let Ms. Fu know."
"Okay, goodbye." After saying that, Fu Zixin hung up the phone. When she looked up, she met Su Kang's unfriendly gaze. "We're not divorced yet, and you're already going on a blind date?"
"It's just one procedure missing, why don't we go and get it done now?"
Su Kang's face darkened immediately: "You want a divorce? Then wait until I'm dead!"
Fu Zixin was stunned for a moment, then immediately shouted, "What do you mean by that? You said you wanted a divorce but now you're going back on your word? That's going too far! Are you playing me for a fool?!"
Su Kang remained silent for a long time with a cold face. Seeing Fu Zixin's furious expression, he couldn't help but speak up, "I will not let anyone else be my daughter's stepfather. You can get a divorce and remarry if you want, unless you give up custody!"
"Su Kang, you're shameless!" Fu Zixin said, splashing her coffee cup directly in Su Kang's face, her face flushed with anger. "What right do you have to take my child from me? Where were you when she was sick and hospitalized, changing her diapers? Where were you when she had a fever of 39 degrees Celsius, and I was alone at the hospital watching over her? Where were you when your family cornered me at the hospital and forced me to divorce you? Where were you when Su Fei threw a tantrum and threatened to kill our child to force me to divorce you? What have you done for me and our child? What have you sacrificed? What right do you have to take my child from me now!"
As Fu Zixin spoke, her eyes reddened. Just because she had interfered in Su Fei and Wang Kaijun's relationship, just because she had made a mistake once, did she deserve to be abused by his whole family?
Now that she's scared and backing down, wanting to keep her distance, what grievances does he still have? What right does he have to try and take the child from her?
Su Kang knew he had said the wrong thing, and clenched his fists, unsure how to persuade her. He hadn't really intended to do that; no matter what, he would never actually fight her for the child. He just didn't want a divorce, and it was a slip of the tongue.
He wiped his face, let out a heavy sigh, and after a moment of silence asked, "So, you're really going on a blind date?"
"Yes, I'm going on blind dates. I want to find someone who can protect me and my daughter, so we'll never have to be bullied again!"
Su Kang didn't speak, only lowered his eyes, a hint of sorrow flashing in them. He hadn't protected her and her daughter, so it was understandable that she was desperate for him. But he didn't want to let go like this; if he left Fu Zixin, he feared he would never be happy for the rest of his life.
Seeing Su Kang's distress, Fu Zixin felt a pang of heartache. It wasn't that she had no feelings for Su Kang; on the contrary, she had developed feelings for him over time. But she truly couldn't continue with him. If it were just her alone, it would be manageable; she could handle his family. But she had a child, and she didn't want her child to grow up in an unhealthy environment. Rather than a broken and fearful family, it was better for her to leave alone with her child. Perhaps separation would be better for everyone.
She took a deep breath and said, "Sorry, I got agitated just now. If there's nothing else, I'll be going now." As she spoke, she started to walk outside, but after only a few steps, Su Kang grabbed her arm. "I'm going to the hospital too, let's go together."
Fu Zixin did not refuse, and no one spoke along the way.
In the hospital room, Yan Zuozuo woke up the next morning. Chi Moqing hadn't gone to work; instead, he was at the hospital with her. She glared at him, "Aren't you going to work again?"
Chi Moqing shook his head: "I've already told my special assistant that I'll be notified if there's anything important."
She sighed, "I'm really fine, you don't need to stay with me. Otherwise, you'll have to work overtime again tonight."
Chi Moqing took a towel and wiped her hands and face, saying gently, "You're injured, so it's only right that I take care of you. I'm going to work now thinking about you, and I'm afraid it will delay everyone's work."
Yan Zuozuo sighed helplessly and asked after a while, "How long will I have to stay in the hospital?"
About a week.
Yan Zuozuo's face darkened: "It'll take that long? Does that mean I'll miss the new clothes launch?"
Just as Chi Moqing was about to speak, there was a knock on the door. Immediately afterwards, Fisher, dressed in a fashionable outfit and with a bright smile, walked in. "Sweetheart, oh no, Zuo Zuo, I heard you were hospitalized again, so I came to see you."
Chi Moqing felt a pang of jealousy; she loathed Fisher. But she couldn't show it, so she just gave him a polite greeting.
Yan Zuozuo sat up and greeted Fisher. Chi Moqing reacted quickly and went over to help her, saying, "Lie down, I'll adjust the bed for you."
Fisher walked over, put the flowers in the vase, and said cheerfully, "You don't need to worry about me. Just lie down and rest. The patient is the most important person and can do whatever he wants."
Xia Shiwei smiled sheepishly: "I seem to have a lot of connections with hospitals, but it always interferes with my work. Director, I'll go back to work as soon as I'm healed."
Fisher waved her hand, interrupting her, "Don't worry about work, just take good care of yourself. You might not be able to make it to the press conference, but I'll have someone record the whole thing for you, as if you were there too."
"I can't accept this..." Xia Shiwei felt very sorry for Fisher, as there had been a lot of unexpected things happening lately.
"What's there to be embarrassed about? As long as I'm at Fan Hua Design, my sweetheart has the right to be willful. Silly girl, getting injured and hospitalized is not something we can control. Don't overthink it, just rest. I'm waiting for a radiant and energetic apprentice to come back to work."
Yan Zuozuo felt very touched and thanked him repeatedly. But Chi Moqing was extremely displeased; such unsolicited kindness must have ulterior motives!
Fisher was practically born to antagonize him. He then brought up the issue of Zuo Zuo's car accident, before turning his attention to Chi Moqing and saying, "I heard that President Chi was there when Zuo Zuo was injured?"
Chi Moqing clenched his fist, feeling an urge to punch someone.
His face remained indifferent as he said, "This was my oversight. I will not give anyone another chance in the future."
This was a double entendre, and Fisher, whether genuinely not understanding or pretending not to, chuckled and said, "That's for the best, otherwise Zuo Zuo would suffer terribly following you, constantly running to the hospital for no reason, so pitiful." As he spoke, he deliberately patted Yan Zuo Zuo's hand, making Chi Moqing jealous.
He snatched Yan Zuozuo's hand, his smile not reaching his eyes, "Master Fisher is truly a good boss who cares for his subordinates. My wife is lucky to have a boss like you. I hope Master Fisher will give me more guidance in my work in the future."
“Of course, who told my little sweetheart to be my apprentice?” Fisher said, giving Yan Zuozuo a flirtatious wink.
Yan Zuozuo blinked, feeling that the two men were secretly vying for something, but she couldn't figure it out for the time being.
