Exclusive Pampered Wife: My Wife Came to My Door

Chapter 477 Don't Leave Me Alone

Chapter 477 Don't Leave Me Alone

The two stayed close together until three in the morning, when Chi Moqing carried Yan Zuozuo back to bed, where she fell asleep again. She glanced at Chi Moqing groggily and said, "Honey, you should go to sleep early too."

Chi Moqing nodded and waited until she was completely asleep before leaving. However, the moment he closed the door, the tenderness on his face vanished.

Inside the bar, Tong Shili kept pouring herself drinks. Men would occasionally try to flirt with her, but she would always scold them and send them away. After finishing a whole glass in one go, she drunkenly banged on the bar, "Hey, give me another one!"

She actually has a good alcohol tolerance, but she was in a bad mood and got a little dizzy after only a few drinks.

The bartender quickly placed a glass of wine in front of her. Tong Shili downed it in one gulp, then frowned as she looked around at the noisy surroundings. It was too noisy; it made her want to kill someone!

She slammed the money on the bar, then staggered to her feet and walked away. Several young thugs who had been watching her for a while followed her out as soon as she left.

As soon as she stepped out, several young men surrounded her. "Beautiful lady, are you all alone? Are you lonely? Want us brothers to keep you company?"

"Get out of my way!" Tong Shili pushed them away, feeling extremely nauseous.

"Hey, this chick's got some hot stuff, I like her." With that, a young thug reached out and touched her face.

Tong Shili raised her foot to kick him, and the young man, caught off guard, almost got hit. "Damn it! You dare to challenge me? Brothers, get him inside first!"

These young men were notorious criminals in the bar district, specifically targeting drunk women. They would rape them, steal all their money, take photos, and then extort money from them. Because the victims were women, no one dared to report them, which emboldened them.

Several people tried to drag Tong Shili away. Although Tong Shili was quite skilled, she was still a little dizzy and was dragged along like that.

"Let go of me... Ugh!" She couldn't hold it in and vomited all over these people.

The young men were dumbfounded: "Damn it, they actually dared to spit on me." As they spoke, they grabbed Tong Shili's hair and were about to attack her.

Tong Shili leaned against a roadside power line, vomiting violently. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her head. She turned and glared at the young men, "It hurts, let go..."

"It doesn't hurt, I'm too lazy to bother, just hit me!"

After a flurry of punches and kicks, the young men were lying on the ground, wide-eyed at the man who had suddenly appeared. Each clutched their wounds and scrambled away in terror. Before leaving, they didn't forget to show off their heroism, yelling at them, "You just wait!"

"Is this how you degrade yourself?" A cold voice came, and Tong Shili stiffened. When she looked up, she saw Yi Fanxi standing there, his handsome face full of gloom.

She shook her head, trying to stay clear-headed. Why did he always appear when she was at her most vulnerable, and even stage a hero-saves-the-damsel-in-distress act? But hero-saves-the-damsel-in-distress usually end up with the hero and the beauty together, but this man didn't love her.

She pushed him away and walked forward in frustration.

Yi Fanxi followed behind her, his face even more unpleasant. As if he could no longer bear her half-dead state, he grabbed her arm and threw her onto the ground.

Tong Shili was dizzy from the fall and yelled at him, "It's none of your business, let me out of the car!"

"Shut up!" Yi Fanxi, who was usually calm and collected, suddenly became furious. If it were any other woman drinking like this, he wouldn't even glance at her even if she drank herself to death. But this woman in front of him was Tong Shili, and her self-degradation made him very unhappy!

"What's wrong with you? You don't love me, what does my life or death have to do with you? Are you bored? I want to get off the bus!" She kept banging on the bus door, even using her feet.

Yi Fanxi's jaw tightened more and more, and suddenly he stepped on the gas, and the car sped off wildly.

Tong Shili was unprepared and was completely disoriented from the impact. Holding her breath, she turned and punched Yi Fanxi.

Yi Fanxi, his face dark, pressed her down onto the seat. Tong Shili, still restless, bit him again. A sharp pain shot through his chest, and Yi Fanxi frowned slightly, accelerating the car even faster.

Not long after, Yi Fanxi threw Tong Shili onto her bed. The heavy impact made her stomach churn again.

"Ugh!" She rushed to the bathroom and vomited violently.

Yi Fanxi stood coldly beside her, turning to make her a strong tea. However, he had only taken a few steps when she suddenly hugged him from behind and bit him hard on the back.

"Yi Fanxi, don't go, please."

Yi Fanxi's body stiffened.

"Don't abandon me, don't leave me..." Tong Shili hugged him tightly as if she was afraid he would leave. "Why, why can't you like me? Tell me."

A flicker of pain crossed Yi Fanxi's eyes, and she tightened her grip on her side. He took her hand in his and sighed helplessly, "It's not that I don't like you, it's just that I can't be your man."

"Why? If that's the case, why are you still so good to me?" Tong Shili sobbed uncontrollably, and Yi Fanxi felt his entire back was soaked with sweat. "You'll find out the reason sooner or later, but not now. Go lie down on the bed first, I'll make you a cup of tea."

"I don't want to know! I need to know now!"

Yi Fanxi pursed his lips. If he could, he would want to shield her from all the pain and protect her in a place free from suffering. But he couldn't do that; she had to take this step on her own.

Tong Shili cried on his back for a long time, until she had no more tears left. With her head resting on his back, she bit her lip and asked, "Yi Fanxi, are my parents still alive?"

Yi Fanxi shook his head: "I'm not sure right now, but I'll find out the results as soon as possible."

"Is their disappearance related to J?"

Yi Fanxi nodded: "You'll regret it if you follow him now."

Tong Shili lowered her eyes, her emotions seemingly calming down considerably. But if she didn't obey Master J, her surviving parents might very well be gone in the next second.

She dared not disobey...

"Even if you don't like me, can you hug me just once?" She looked at him pitifully, like a child afraid of being rejected.

Yi Fanxi scooped her up in his arms and carefully placed her on the bed. Looking at the glistening tears on her face, his heart clenched. He sighed silently and reached out to wipe away the tears from her face.

Tong Shili asked, "Are you really with Julie?"

“She’s a good girl,” Yi Fanxi said, neither confirming nor denying. He couldn’t quite explain his feelings for Judy; although he kept telling himself he didn’t like her, he couldn’t let her go either.

Tong Shili stared at him quietly for a while, then sniffed and said, "What do I lack compared to her?"

Yi Fanxi sat on the edge of the bed and smiled bitterly, "You are better than her in every way, but we can't be together."

Tong Shili felt that she was spineless. The man had already rejected her to this extent, yet she still had the audacity to ask why again and again. It was truly pathetic.

"If you keep saying that, I'm starting to doubt how ridiculous your reasons for rejecting me are." Tong Shili gave a self-deprecating laugh, her eyes fixed on Yi Fanxi with a half-smile. "Do you think we're siblings?"

Yi Fanxi stiffened, something flashing in his eyes. He lowered his gaze slightly, concealing the strangeness in his eyes, and said, "Go to sleep, you have to go to work tomorrow."

Tong Shili nodded, and just as she was about to fall asleep, she suddenly said, "Yi Fanxi, I received orders to control you by any means necessary."

“Yes.” Yi Fanxi nodded. “I will protect you without you having to use any means.”

This wasn't the first time he'd said something like that, but Tong Shili only felt sorrow. If he didn't love her, why give her this illusion? Could they really be siblings?

The next morning, Chi Moqing escorted Yan Zuozuo to work. He didn't go to find Leng Yan, but instead had someone take her to his office. Leng Yan was naturally resentful of this treatment, but she still endured it.

"Now that we've come to this point, I have nothing to hide. If you want to get any information from me, you'll have to divorce your husband and marry me."

Chi Moqing didn't speak, but just smiled lightly, his eyes filled with disdain. "Leng Yan, if I wanted you to speak, do you think you would still have the chance to make demands of me?"

"I know everything. I was in the army too, so I'm familiar with those methods. What can you do if I don't tell you?"

Chi Moqing picked up his teacup and took a sip, his expression remarkably relaxed. "Leng Yan, I'll ask you one last time: are you sure you won't cooperate with us and truthfully reveal the inside story of the Zha Sha organization?"

Hearing this, Leng Yan's expression hardened slightly. She knew Chi Moqing well; if he could say something like that, it meant there was something hidden behind it. Clenching her fist, she asked, "What do you mean?"

Chi Moqing sneered: "All you need to do is answer yes or no."

His resolute attitude made Leng Yan feel uneasy. Although she had spoken very bluntly, she was, after all, in Chi Moqing's hands, a fish on his chopping block. To put it bluntly, she was still gambling on Chi Moqing's feelings for her.

"You don't need to threaten me like that. I'll say it again: if you want me to tell you everything, you have to marry me!"

Chi Moqing nodded: "Very good. I have a document here for you to take a look at. After you've read it, you can reconsider your answer."

When Leng Yan saw the document, her expression changed drastically!

"Last time you used the power of the Zasha organization to cause a conflict with the military. This time you are using people from the Zasha organization to create social panic. There is plenty of evidence here. Regardless of whether Kuriz knows about it or not, once these things are exposed, public opinion will be generated that Kuriz is condoning you and that the Zasha organization is in danger of being wiped out. Kuriz will have to step down without losing a single soldier."

"Leng Yan, you're a smart woman, and you've been by Kuriz's side for so many years. If Kuriz loses power because of you, what do you think the vengeful Kuriz will do?" Chi Moqing sneered. "As the saying goes, even a starved camel is bigger than a horse. Even if he falls from power, he'll still have a group of followers. If you can't be used by me, I won't need to find someone to protect you. You should know Kuriz's methods very well, right?"

The more Chi Moqing spoke, the uglier her cold and beautiful face became. Indeed, if Kuriz fell because of her, she couldn't even imagine the ways he would torture her. Let alone if she fell because of him, even now that Kuriz suspected her of betraying the organization, if he caught her, her fate would be just as tragic.

Her face turned deathly pale. Knowing she had lost her gamble, she bit her lip and asked, "Can you really protect me?"

"That depends on what you say," Chi Moqing refused to give a definite answer. He did want to extract useful information from Leng Yan's mouth, but he couldn't let his wife's revenge go unavenged.

With old grudges and new hatred, did Leng Yan really think he would protect her? Perhaps this was somewhat despicable, but she was only blaming herself for being so foolish as to dare harm his young wife. Two words: courting death!
