Chapter 127: The Desperate Escape
Chapter 127: The Desperate Escape
Looking at the Giant Black Dragon in front of him, Raiden knew he had no chance of winning at all. He only had one thought remaining in his mind.
’Run!!’
But that dragon did not give him a chance, as he walked slowly towards them.
Even Emperor Woolie, who has never been afraid of anyone else, started to feel the absolute pressure he had never felt before, making his body filled with tension.
Raiden knew he had to do something and fast. He started looking around everywhere in his surroundings for a way or a path to escape, but he found none.
Be it the land or the sky, virtually every single space around him was covered in dense Terra Beasts who were looking at him hungrily. There was no way out at all.
Thump!!
The Black Dragon put his left foot forward, sending tremors running across the ground.
Thump!!
He put his second foot forward as he walked towards Raiden and Woolie, step by step. With his huge size and speed, he could cover this distance in a flash, but clearly, he liked playing with his food.
Raiden noticed the mocking grin on that dragon’s face, who was clearly enjoying the panicking faces of Raiden and Woolie.
’Calm down, Raiden, calm down. This won’t do. Panicking won’t do anything. You need to find a way out of here. Right now!’
"Woolie!!" I have a bad feeling about this, human! You get up and run with Neva!! I will hold him back.
"No!! Don’t raise flags like that, okay?! We are all getting out of here, and we are getting out together." Raiden gritted his teeth as he replied.
By now, the distance between the dragon and them had become just a few meters. At Raiden’s directions, Woolie started to walk backwards slowly, maintaining a safe distance.
"We can’t fight head-on; we need to find an escape path. But since these people won’t leave me any path for survival, I will carve my own path!!" Raiden’s eyes hardened as he made his decision.
He quickly opened the holographic display map on the watch and started looking around the area for where he could go.
Going straight into the jungle wasn’t an option, as there was no guarantee that he wouldn’t follow them there.
Going deeper wasn’t an option either, since there was a high chance he would encounter an enemy who was even more dangerous than the Black Dragon.
On the left, there was a large mountain range that essentially ended in a dead end. The only viable path going forward was, right!!
After making up his mind, Raiden quickly closed the map and looked at the surrounding Terra Beasts before looking in the direction he needed to go in.
"Woolie, Neva, get ready. We need to run away, for now. We will only have one shot at this." Raiden spoke with a solemn expression as he patted their heads.
"Woolie, you only have a single job; you need to hold that big dragon back for a while, okay? Can you do it??" Raiden asked with worry in his eyes.
This sounded like a really risky, almost suicidal job for Woolie, but it was the best option he could come up with right now.
"Woolie Woo!!" Woolie patted his chest in confidence.
He’s just a big overgrown lizard. I can take care of him, no problem!! Leave everything to me, human.
Hearing this, Raiden nodded his head before looking at Neva, who looked slightly nervous yet excited.
"Neva, it’s time to show the world what you can do, okay? It’s time for you to take the centre stage. Woolie and I are counting on you to help us create an escape path from here. Only you can do it. Nobody else is strong enough to do it." Raiden spoke in a sincere voice. If possible, he didn’t want to leave this burden on this little child, but Neva jumped up on the spot, her face all excited.
"Sha Sha!!" Don’t worry Rai Rai~ I will protect you and big brother!! Just watch me!!
After saying that, Neva’s body started flashing with hot pink and golden lights, as she grew bigger and bigger, before turning into a 3-meter-tall, graceful spider.
"Roar!!"
The Dragon, looking at their antics, detected something had gone wrong and roared loudly, before he started flapping his wings, kicking up a sandstorm in the place.
"We have no time to waste!! Do it, now!! Go!!!" As soon as Raiden finished speaking, Woolie’s body started to grow dramatically larger, turning as big as 10 meters tall!!
"Woolie, use Emperor’s Domain!! Volt Rush!! Hold him back!!"
"Wool!!!"
Rumble!!
The clouds in the sky started churning with darkness and purple lightning as they flashed hard before crashing down on Woolie, giving rise to a thunder pillar that connected the ground to the sky.
This phenomenon even gave pause to Black Dragon, who was moving towards them for a moment of time before he rushed forward even faster, reaching Woolie in the blink of an eye.
As soon as he reached within 10 meters of Woolie, he found himself growing dramatically weaker. His powers were still getting siphoned away by half.
Emperor Woolie didn’t miss this chance as he pressed his feet hard into the ground before flashing directly towards him, destroying everything in his path.
"Woolie!!" Don’t underestimate Emperor Woolie, you big overgrown lizard!!
Crack-Bang!!
The hit connected solidly with the dragon’s face, making him cry out in agony as he was pushed back a few dozen metres. Woolie didn’t let up as he pursued him to attack again, only for a dragon to do a flip in the air and make Woolie’s charge with his claws.
Bang!!!
Their clash produced a massive shockwave that blew everything away from the centre. But if someone looked closely enough, they would find that the dragon was standing still on the ground while Woolie was pushed back over 10 m, showing who was the dominant one.
All of this occurred within a few seconds, giving Raiden no time to react. It was clear Woolie couldn’t hold on for long.
"Neva, it’s your turn!! Since they don’t give us a path, we’ll carve one from their skins and bones!!"
"Reliquary of Heaven’s Fall!!"
