Chapter 454 - 447: Revenge
Chapter 454 - 447: Revenge
"Sorry. When I see something like this, I find it hard to hold myself back."
The woman spoke calmly as she pulled a towel from the soft bed and dried her hands.
"Things like this are countless in this city. You can’t kill them all."
The man in the black windbreaker stood up, his tone softening. "Rita," he said to the woman, "you should know that killing one or two people is useless. The true source of all this city’s evil is *him*. Only by eliminating that man can we truly end the wickedness here and properly avenge your sister."
"And now is the perfect opportunity. The Baiyi Organization and the Hunting Mark Organization are at odds. Eliminating him now won’t cause a fundamental conflict in our country’s political landscape. In fact, we can use the dispute between the two organizations as a shield for our nation."
"Do you know how much effort we’ve spent waiting for this opportunity? How much we’ve risked to create this chance for you to get close to him? If the plan is exposed, the consequences for us will be unbearable. And you... you would likely lose your chance for revenge forever."
The man in the black windbreaker sighed.
Rita fell silent for a moment, a complicated look crossing her beautiful face. "I understand," she said. "But I hope you can understand how I feel, too. If the plan succeeds, this will likely be the last day of my life. Just consider this my last indulgence."
As she spoke, she gently touched her chest, its contours accentuated by her tight-fitting suit. Implanted there were two of the world’s most advanced micro-bombs, powerful enough to instantly flatten everything within a half-kilometer radius.
Against a monster who seemed inhuman, impervious to blades and bullets, a creature who could advance while being strafed by a heavy machine gun... only a close-range detonation of this magnitude stood any chance of killing him for good.
To prevent such an attack, the brutish yet cautious man always carried a signal-jamming device whenever he appeared in public, foiling any attempt at remote detonation.
That was why, in two hours, special agents from the Liya Republic would install a micro-pulse device in her rear molar to control the explosives in her chest. Thanks to her stunning looks, and after the Liya Republic’s agents had expended enormous resources, she was arranged to be one of the venue’s main greeters. This would give her the chance to get close to her target.
It was her only chance for revenge, even if the price was being annihilated herself.
Eight years ago, her only relative—her older sister—suddenly disappeared. She searched desperately, only to eventually discover through her investigation that her sister had been dragged into this den of demons. She had become that man’s plaything, never to be seen again.
Knowing his personality, this meant she had died in extreme agony, torment, and terror, her body never even found. From that day forward, hatred consumed her heart. It remained that way until the Liya Republic’s special agents contacted her and put her through all kinds of training.
She knew they were just using her, but she didn’t care—not as long as she could achieve her goal.
After a long, arduous wait, the time had finally come.
Hearing Rita’s words, the man in the black windbreaker fell silent for a moment. He sighed, stood up, and gently patted her shoulder. "Let’s go. We don’t have much time left."
Rita nodded. The two of them walked out, hanging a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door on their way out. That would ensure the room’s tranquility for at least the entire night.
Inside, only Dom’s struggles grew fainter and fainter. In a room whose excellent soundproofing was custom-built for special needs, no disturbance could be detected by the outside world.

Time flew by, and night descended.
"Bartmu, alias ’Flesh Mountain.’ Veski Race. Height: 2.3 meters. Weight: over 500 kilograms. Physique is incredibly robust. Possesses a unique magnetic field that allows for fat storage and accelerated decomposition. Extremely high Defense Power and Attack Power. Ten years ago, he single-handedly clashed with the Liya Republic’s ace marine division. During the engagement, he broke the heavily armed squad’s formation and killed a third of them. That battle solidified Jimis’s status in the Liya Republic’s Lawless City."
"Subject broke through human physical limitations approximately twenty-one years ago. Has been less active in the past decade..."
Zhou Yuanjue read through the man’s profile one more time before slowly closing it. ’Less active in the last decade... I wonder what level he’s reached by now.’ In any case, when facing an opponent who was beyond Saint Awakening—especially with the express purpose of killing them—he could not afford to be careless.
’Good or evil aside, anyone who could break through to the Saint Awakening Realm was not to be taken lightly.’
"Sir, it’s about time. The auction at the Swan Auction House is about to start. We should be heading over."
Just then, Huang Bin approached Zhou Yuanjue and spoke.
"Alright."
Zhou Yuanjue set down the file he was holding. He stood before the mirror and, expressionless, tightened his tie before turning to look out the window.
’The city’s nightscape is in no way inferior to the major cities in Donghua. But tonight... it would be better if this beautiful scenery were destroyed.’

When Zhou Yuanjue and Huang Bin arrived at the auction, they could have mistaken it for a film festival. The buyers were all impeccably dressed, and the auction house itself was built like a grand opera house. But all this splendor couldn’t hide the ugly truth of the place.
"Welcome."
After passing through a series of strict security checks, as Zhou Yuanjue walked through the entrance, a female greeter offered him a faint, practiced smile. She wore a tight-fitting white gown, her features were exquisite, and her figure was nearly perfect.
The moment he saw her, Zhou Yuanjue paused. He seemed to sense something. He actually gave the woman a slight smile before walking into the grand lobby, which resembled a cocktail reception.
Rita smiled and watched Zhou Yuanjue and Huang Bin walk away, an inexplicable feeling rising in her heart.
’That smile, that look in his eyes... it seemed to hold a deeper meaning.’
’I’m probably overthinking it. Maybe it’s just because I look so stunning tonight. It’s not the first time I’ve gotten a look like that.’
"Sir?"
Huang Bin, too, had keenly sensed Zhou Yuanjue’s odd behavior and asked with a hint of confusion.
"Stay close to me later. If something happens, I can protect you."
Zhou Yuanjue said no more, leaving Huang Bin looking utterly baffled.
’He had actually sensed a thread of threat coming from that girl. Something was very wrong.’
’But if that was all she had, it would be nowhere near enough to deal with a being like Bartmu, who was beyond Saint Awakening.’
ROAR!!
Suddenly, the entire venue erupted.
A convoy was slowly approaching on the wide street. At its very center was a monstrous SUV, easily the size of a tank.
A sharp glint flashed in Rita’s beautiful eyes. She knew he had finally arrived.
