Chapter 400 Interruption.
Chapter 400 Interruption.
Nuo Yan stood there with his bare upper body exposed to them. There were traces of his clothes being burnt, but there were no signs of his body being damaged at all. Instead, there was a dark black glow on his body that was fading away.
Captain Black Sword chuckled, his eyes opening fully for the first time. "Well, I do have a reputation to maintain, even if I can't always remember why."
His long messy hair fluttered in the air as he adjusted his stance.
"Huff!" Taking a deep breath, he exhaled a gray mist from his air. The mist spread out, covering both him and the intruder in it.
"Trying to hinder my sight?" the boy muttered when he realized he could not see through the thick mist. When he tried to locate the captain's position, he realized that it had blended with the mist, throwing him off.
"This mist even obstructs the soul senses of someone in the Soul Formation Realm." He heard the lazy voice from all directions as if the head captain was everywhere at once.

"I have been too lazy to fight my enemies..." the voice continued, "but there are ways for me to finish my enemies off without even moving around much."
*Woosh!*
Nuo Yan shifted his body, hearing the sound of a blade moving towards him. He touched his cheek and felt the wetness of blood.
"This mist obstructs the senses of a person." The boy muttered once more, dodging another blade. His eyes vigilantly scanned for the next attack.
*Woosh!*
He tried to use his punches to push the mist away from him, but no matter how hard he tried, it returned to its original state.
"Buzz!"
The boy looked around cautiously, hearing a buzzing sound.
*Smack!*
Suddenly, the ground beneath him trembled, followed by the sound of something getting whipped. With his vision blocked, he could only wait for the attack to come to him or randomly attack back.
"Do you think this is enough to play with my mind?" Nuo Yan decided to go for the third option.
*Swiish*
Using his qi, Nuo Yan leaped into the air. His figure tore through the mist; the higher he went, the thinner it got.
*Woosh!*
"You are not going anywhere." Before he could go any further, the boy heard a calm voice coming from behind him. Along with the voice, he heard something heading in his direction.
Before he had a chance to evade it, a thorny vine thicker than a person's leg appeared from the depths of the mist and wrapped itself around Nuo Yan's feet.
*Krrrack!!*
With a slight pout on his face, Nuo Yan snapped his fingers, and the sky started to crack. Just like before with the white veil, the scene repeated itself.
Everyone was left astonished at the sight of an unknown array being shattered.
"Since when..." Hu Fei couldn't help but mutter in disbelief as she watched the fragments of light fall from the sky.
"What's happening there?"
"Did something happen in the royal palace?" Outside the Royal Estate, everyone looked up at the scene of sparkles falling from the sky. The glorious sight caught their attention, stirring up the crowd.
"How did you know?" Looking deep into Wuhan's eyes, Nuo Yan asked curiously.
"It was too obvious," Wuhan replied with a scoff.
"As expected of His Majesty, to be able to see through an array formation of that level." The Prime Minister stepped forward with a flattering smile on his face. "But Your Majesty, can you tell us about this person? Who is he?"
"This is no place to talk." Wuhan looked around and saw guards lying and sneaking around the area.
The others followed his gaze and nodded in understanding. Wuhan released his grip on the young man's arms and looked at Hu Fei and Bai Chen.
"Get everyone, including yourself, proper treatment. The Head Captain will fill you in on the rest later." Seeing their injuries, he instructed them to get treated, passing a blaming look at the boy for their grave conditions.
"The rest will come with me." Saying that Wuhan turned around and disappeared. The Head Captain looked at the Prime Minister and Nuo Yan.
"We should go before he gets angrier." Nuo Yan smiled, seeing the man looking at him. His words caught the attention of the Prime Minister.
"Please follow us to the Royal Palace." But instead of saying anything about that, he gestured for them to follow after him.
*Woosh!*
"Tch!" Seeing them disappear, Hu Fei clicked her tongue in annoyance, glaring at the spot where the 'intruder' had stood.
"What? Not willing to accept your loss?" Seeing her state, Bai Chen asked with a grin on his face.
Hu Fei turned back to glare at him coldly, but that did not faze the man.
"I am not such a sore loser to do that!" Hu Fei spat coldly at Bai Chen. "I just hate it. He invaded this place and injured so many of our guards, almost killing them... and he will probably get away with it like nothing happened."
Bai Chen listened to the woman calmly as she vented everything on her mind. Her words made her frustration and anger clear to him.
After she finished venting, she walked away without waiting for him to say anything. Bai Chen did not stop her and simply watched her walk away.
"The rules and punishment are for the strong to dictate. The weak don't have the right to expect empathy from anyone. This is the truth of the world, and no one but the strongest being can change that..." Muttering to himself, Bai Chen dragged his injured body away.
