Chapter 583 Going All Out!
Chapter 583 Going All Out!
'This is taking a lot of time. I cannot waste this much qi,' Shisan finally made a decision as she came to a stop. She looked at Noah and asked, 'Did I buy enough time?'
'You did well. I have gathered more than enough of them.' A smile appeared on Noah's face as he saw the scene before him from high up in the air.
Deep in the craters he made, the dead bodies of the creatures were being swallowed by the earth one by one. As soon as the bodies were swallowed, the hole beneath them would close and open under another one.
'It would have been better if Elyisa were here; I wouldn't have to be this careful,' Noah thought as he sneakily tried to snatch a few more bodies.
...
"Finally, I can use that move," Shisan muttered before backing away. 'Fortunately, even though I am an assassin, I learned this move after that day.'
Thinking of the day they were captured by someone from the cult, Shisan's grip on her daggers tightened. Her eyes glowed with a dark light; even her pupils turned black, making her appear as if she had been possessed. Her lips moved, yet no voice came out.
But...
The whole army of abominations seemed to hear a name echoing in their minds, making them pause for a while.
"Eternal Night's Embrace..."
"Hmm..." Amon frowned as he sensed something and raised his head. To his astonishment, the sky above Shisan's head started to turn dark, as if night had descended despite the sun being right there.
The darkness did not just enshroud Shisan but began to cover the whole area above the soldiers she was facing.
Woosh!
The wave of darkness summoned by Shisan spread across the battlefield, engulfing enemies in an all-consuming shadow.
As the wave advanced, it manifested countless shadowy tendrils. These tendrils lashed out as if they were whips.
With the attack over, the darkness receded back towards Shisan, her body returning to normal, and her eyes regaining their usual appearance.
As the darkness faded, Shisan's body went limp, immediately falling downward. But before she could collapse, Noah appeared beside her, leaning her on his shoulder for support.
"Are you okay?" he asked, concern laced in his voice.
"I'm fine, just a little out of qi. I only need to rest," Shisan replied weakly, clearly exhausted from the previous attack, which had left her defenseless.
Noah adjusted her weight to let her lean over him properly, ready to move back.
"Do you think you can leave without paying for the damage you caused me?" Amon finally spoke again, causing Noah to stop and look back at him.
Taking a step forward, Amon moved his hands, which had been clenched behind his back, forward. "Now that you're here, prepare to be buried along with my precious creations."
Noah was surprised to hear a hint of pain and anger in Amon's voice, but now wasn't the time to dwell on it as he faced a bigger problem.
Beep!
Beep!
One by one, the bodies lying lifeless on the ground started to twitch, a red light flashing from inside their upper bodies as if something inside them was glowing.
Noah's eyes turned into vertical slits before they shook in realization, as if he understood what was happening.
Without wasting any time, he summoned his black wings to fly away. The bodies on the ground moved as if they had come back to life.
"Do you want to run away?" Amon sneered, recovering from his shock upon seeing Noah's wings. The speed of the bodies increased, as did the flashing red light. They jumped towards Noah and Shisan from all directions.
The bodies began to swell mid-air before...
