Worldwide Awakening: My Soul Kinds Are Lost

Chapter 738 738: Ascension to the World to Mend the Sky's Shortcomings_1

Chapter 738 738: Ascension to the World to Mend the Sky's Shortcomings_1

"Has there been yet another great change in the world?" Su Shan was the first to speak. The five of them had just severed the lower realm named the Mysterious World. The entire process had gone very smoothly. Now, their task was simple: use the Mysterious World as a barrier, embedding it at the point of the Outer Demons' invasion. But after the severing, they suddenly felt a palpitation even more intense than during the previous celestial impact or the Outer Demon invasion. It was as if death itself was imminent.

The other four naturally felt it too, but they were still in the dark, with no idea what was about to happen.

"No, perhaps it's because the Outer Demons are about to make their move," Black City said abruptly, then pointed towards the sky.

They saw four colossal shadows gradually enveloping the golden tower in the sky. At that moment, these shadows were clinging to the barrier of the Chaotic God World, bit by bit, seeping inside.

"This is bad! The Outer Demons have sensed our intentions; they're preparing for a full-on assault!" Mysterious Ginseng exclaimed. This had to be it; otherwise, there was no explaining their sudden palpitations.

The cause of their palpitations was, naturally, the imminent danger threatening the Chaotic God World.

"Quick, move!" Su Shan roared without hesitation.

The five of them strained to lift the Mysterious World and flew towards the sky. The enormous Mysterious World enveloped half of the Chaotic God World, plunging vast areas into darkness as sunlight was blotted out.

"No, we're not going to make it in time..." Li Ying gasped, veins bulging on his skin; it was clear he was exerting all his strength.

The other four were in the same state, but they still couldn't accelerate the Ascension of the Mysterious World. This was their limit. How could they possibly succeed?

Looking up again, they saw a large mass of flesh and blood plummeting from the sky. Myriad eyeballs, arms, and bones were visible on its surface.

At this sight, the five Ancestor Gods felt their hair stand on end.

"Such a defiling thing..." Black City muttered under his breath. Fortunately, the grotesque mass didn't attack them, instead flowing like a liquid directly onto the ground below. The scene was utterly terrifying.

Next, countless entities, formed by the resonance of Magical Artifacts, descended like a vast river. The sheer number of mechanical Magical Artifacts made the five Ancestor Gods' scalps tingle.

They could see that within this river of Magical Artifacts, it wasn't Cultivators controlling the artifacts, but the other way around: the artifacts were controlling the Cultivators.

"Quick! We need to end this fast!" Su Shan roared again.

These two Outer Demons hadn't attacked them, which was very strange. It suggested the Outer Demons had a much larger scheme in motion. And they, unable to disengage, could only watch helplessly. This was sheer torture.

The moment Su Shan finished roaring, a giant beast emerged from amidst the chaos. It bore characteristics similar to both the Demon Clan and the Beast Clan. However, Mysterious Ginseng, himself a member of the Demon Clan, could tell at a glance that this creature was far from normal. The giant beast appeared extremely ferocious and somewhat humanoid, but a closer inspection revealed many bizarre limbs and structures on its body.

The giant beast descended, its various, dissimilar eyes blinking at the five of them. It even extended one of its sharp, Scale Armor-covered claws, attempting to touch them. The giant beast had more than just one such appendage on its body.

Fortunately, their paths crossed without collision. Otherwise, their only option would have been to smash the Mysterious World onto this giant beast.

Preserving themselves had always been the foremost priority for the five Ancestor Gods.

"There's one more Outer Demon," Li Ying added.

Just as he finished speaking, a vast, dark curtain fell vertically from above. This was the fourth Outer Demon.

Unlike the first three Outer Demons, this fourth one seemed rather unremarkable, lacking overtly terrifying features. Yet, it was from this black curtain that the five Ancestor Gods sensed an even more suffocating aura than from the previous three.

"Rules... those are aberrant rules..." Yin Lu muttered quietly.

Against the first three, a united assault might offer them some chance of victory. But this fourth one... it embodied the world's rules, twisted and warped, erroneously manifesting as Chaos. If they weren't careful, they could be killed instantly, without even comprehending how they died.

Luckily, these four Outer Demons did not make a move on them.

"Something's not right," Black City suddenly mused. "Such huge entities... how did they get into the Chaotic God World? Could there be a problem with the barrier of the god realm?"

Such massive entities, far larger than even those golden towers—how had they entered the Chaotic God World?

Before they received an answer, the Mysterious World they were carrying reached the barrier of the Chaotic God World, preventing them from advancing further.

"It's not too late yet," Su Shan declared. "We must act together! In the shortest possible time, we need to successfully embed the Mysterious World into the barrier to ensure the Outer Demons can't get in!"

The five Ancestor Gods worked in concert. Wielding their innate authority over heaven and earth, they instantly transformed the entire Mysterious World into a patch, embedding it within the barrier.

This resulted in a peculiar, rather odd-looking patch appearing on the world barrier. Thankfully, this patch was very sturdy, so they didn't need to worry about it falling off.

"We've succeeded," Mysterious Ginseng sighed in relief. They had been under immense pressure, especially after four massive Outer Demons had entered the Chaotic God World. Failure would have meant the remaining Outer Demons would certainly not have allowed them a second chance to mend the heavens.

CRACK!

A loud cracking sound echoed. The five Ancestor Gods, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, felt their expressions freeze.

A crack had appeared on the Mysterious World they had embedded in the sky, and it was expanding relentlessly. This made their expressions turn exceedingly grim.

"We need to use another world as a patch!" Su Shan gritted his teeth. At this point, all they could do was rob Peter to pay Paul. They were fortunate that enough lower worlds remained; otherwise, they might not have been able to block the intruders.

The others naturally didn't object. In their eyes, this was undoubtedly the Outer Demons, enraged at finding the entrance blocked, lashing out in fury.

This was bound to be a fierce onslaught. As long as they could hold on, they could continue with their plan of a protracted stalemate, hoping to wear the enemy down.

As for the four Outer Demons already in the Chaotic God World, they could deal with them after they had embedded the second lower world patch. It wouldn't be too late then.

These four Outer Demons were likely just the vanguard. If the enemy's main forces entered the Chaotic God World, then all would truly be lost.

They understood the priorities clearly. Sacrifices were necessary at this juncture. Either the beings below the rank of Ancestor God would suffer catastrophic losses, or everyone would perish together. Faced with this choice, the Ancestor Gods had unhesitatingly chosen the former.

As long as their kind wasn't completely wiped out, their numbers could eventually be restored.

"Let's choose the Yinkun World; it's the closest. We just need to purge it of all life," Su Shan immediately declared, selecting their target.

The first step was to purge all life-forms. This meant exterminating every living thing in the target lower world, including all flora and fauna. After all, they couldn't very well leave its inhabitants alive while using their world as a patch, could they?

Technically, it was possible and would even save time. However, the drawbacks were immense. Once a lower world broke free from the Chaotic God World's control, it would inevitably try to escape, and a struggling world would be impossible for them to manage. The best method was to slaughter all life within it, ensuring the world itself would lack the strength to resist or flee when the time came.

The Mysterious World had suffered the same fate. Though technically still "alive," it had been reduced to a desolate, silent wasteland, with very little strength left to struggle. In the end, it had been forced to become a patch for the Chaotic God World.

The five Ancestor Gods dispensed with any discussion, heading straight for the Yinkun World. Upon arrival, they immediately began the slaughter.

For a time, the Yinkun World was transformed into a living hell.

"Six hours. We have six hours left," Su Shan said, looking up at the sky again. If the Mysterious World patch wasn't reinforced by a new one within that time, it would shatter completely.

This was indeed a challenge. It had taken them eight hours to purge the Mysterious World and hoist it up as a patch. Now, they had two hours less, meaning they had to give it their absolute all.

Of course, during those previous eight hours, they hadn't been going all out but had worked at a normal pace. Therefore, they hadn't been as fast as they potentially could be for this current task. They still had a chance; it wasn't a guaranteed loss.

If there truly were no chance, they would either surrender or find another way, rather than stubbornly persisting in a futile effort.
