Chapter 785 - 785: No Value? No problem, applying some fertilizer can increase its value _1
"Damn it! They've exterminated another fifteen of my tribes." The Wind Thunder King looked at the latest intelligence report, anger surging in his heart. However, a sense of helplessness quickly extinguished his anger. There was little he could do now except try his best to protect his people. He was incapable of anything more.
Among the Alien Race, besides himself, the Boulder King was gravely injured, and it was unknown if he would survive. Even if he did, it wouldn't significantly alter the situation.
He was still alive only because the Human Clan needed someone to govern the Alien Race and ensure a steady output of resources. Otherwise, even if he could escape once, could he escape three or four times? If the Human Clan sent just three Human Martial Gods, no matter how fast he fled, he would be like a turtle in a jar, inevitably worn down and killed.
"Your Majesty, why don't we migrate south?" one of the Alien Race members suggested.
If they couldn't win, their only option was to leave. Otherwise, under the Human Clan's slow, agonizing pressure, they would eventually have no way to survive.
The Wind Thunder King wanted to agree, but they were trapped in these underground caverns. Migrating south was impossible, let alone finding any path to survival anywhere else. However, they didn't need to worry about the Human Clan wiping them out completely, as the humans still needed them as labor. The only certainty was that their lives would become incredibly difficult.
"Migrating south… We'll discuss that later. The Boulder King is not in good condition; it's unsuitable for him to travel." The Wind Thunder King used the Boulder King's grave injuries as an excuse to postpone the discussion.
Since it involved an Alien King, no one dared to press the matter further.
"You are dismissed. Maintain order within the tribes," the Wind Thunder King said, waving his hand wearily, gesturing for them to leave.
Seeing this, they exchanged glances. It was the first time they had seen the Wind Thunder King in such a state; clearly, the pressure was overwhelming.
Previously, the burden was shared among twelve Alien Kings, so the pressure was naturally dispersed. Now, only the Wind Thunder King remained, and with the Alien Race in such a precarious and turbulent state, it would be a lie to say the pressure wasn't immense.
The others could only depart. They, too, had much unfinished work. Although the Alien Race was structured around tribes, it functioned as a centralized system, especially now that only one Alien King remained.
"Feeling drained? I have Kidney Treasure here. Take two."
A voice suddenly spoke, startling the Wind Thunder King. He turned to see a human standing not far away.
The man was dragging a large iron ball behind him, which looked rather peculiar.
However, upon recognizing the man, the Wind Thunder King's expression smoothed over; this wasn't one of the Human Martial Gods he knew.
"You've finally come. I thought you weren't going to show yourself." The Wind Thunder King looked at the two pills in Wang Linchi's hand, which emitted a strange fragrance, but made no move to take them.
He had long suspected that someone had deliberately guided him to successfully eliminate the Black Prison Night Watchman. However, the person's tracks were so well hidden that he had never been able to find sufficient clues.
In his view, this person had to be a human, one with significant grievances against the Human Clan. Otherwise, they wouldn't have acted so deliberately.
"Huh? You actually remember me? But when I held you back then, you were only *this* big." Wang Linchi made an exaggerated cradling gesture. "How is your memory so good?"
The Wind Thunder King's face darkened. This brat is deliberately trying to get one over on me.
"Let's speak plainly. The Human Clan is powerful. What can you do to help me?" the Wind Thunder King said directly to Wang Linchi. If we continue this charade, he'll just keep stringing me along.
Wang Linchi fell silent. He felt the Wind Thunder King was singling him out, especially with that demand for 'bright people' to not speak 'dark words.' He wasn't a 'bright person'—or even human; why should his preference for 'dark words' be grounds for discrimination?
"What's wrong?" The Wind Thunder King clearly sensed Wang Linchi's silence was somewhat unusual and questioned him.
"Nothing. The Human Clan is strong, the Alien Race is in decline. What do you think I can do to help you?" Wang Linchi asked.
He had come to find the Wind Thunder King to further his own agenda, not to make small talk.
Harvesting them one by one to refine into the Flesh and blood relic... how long would that take to get all of the Alien Race?
His idea was quite simple: gather all the Alien Race members together, and then he could refine them all at once.
The problem was, on what authority could he gather all the Alien Race? He wasn't an Alien King.
Then he thought of the Wind Thunder King, whom he had helped before. Not only was he an Alien King, but he was now the *only* Alien King remaining.
Couldn't he use the King's authority to achieve his goal?
"Kill the Human Martial Gods!" the Wind Thunder King said without hesitation.
"Good idea. You go do it," Wang Linchi said. What a dreamer, wanting to kill Human Martial Gods. Doesn't he know they're my leeks and my entertainment? If the Alien Race had even a little more value, higher upper limits, or greater Potential, I might have considered supporting them. But with both their ceiling and Potential so low, investing in them would be like throwing money into a black hole—not even a splash.
Hearing Wang Linchi's response, the Wind Thunder King understood that killing Human Martial Gods was not feasible.
"However, I do have a method," Wang Linchi said with a smile.
"..." The Wind Thunder King had a feeling Wang Linchi was proposing some nefarious scheme, but he decided to hear him out first.
"What's with that look? Take it or leave it. If you don't want it, plenty of others do," Wang Linchi retorted.
"The Boulder King is gravely injured and could die at any moment. The only one *you* can cooperate with is me," the Wind Thunder King said, completely unfazed by Wang Linchi's threat. He only had Wang Linchi as a potential partner, but Wang Linchi also only had him. There was no need for them to look down on each other.
"Alright. I have a special Cultivation Technique called 'Haven't Named Yet.' This technique can..." Wang Linchi began to explain eloquently.
"Allow me to interrupt," the Wind Thunder King said calmly. "We Alien Race members cannot practice Martial Arts."
The Alien Race, having been thoroughly routed by the Human Clan, had naturally considered learning the Human Clan's Martial Arts to compensate for their own shortcomings.
But even when they obtained Cultivation Techniques and Martial Arts from the humans, they couldn't generate inner energy through their own Cultivation.
Without inner energy, everything else was merely an illusion. Even if they acquired the Human Clan's most powerful legacies, they would be unable to use them.
Wang Linchi knew why the Alien Race couldn't practice Martial Arts. They were merely a byproduct of the previous Heavenly Dao's experiments with Martial Arts, lacking the biological structures and organs necessary to produce inner energy.
Unless the Alien Race could further modify their own genes and ensure these modifications were passed down through heredity.
This meant that even if such genetic modification were successful, only newborn generations of the Alien Race would be able to cultivate.
"I know that. This special Cultivation Technique of mine isn't Martial Arts; it's called Bloodline Resonance. Through..." Wang Linchi then gave him a lengthy explanation.
"So, in simple terms: I can leverage the bloodline advantage of Alien Kings to gather the bloodline power of other members of our race. This would allow for a superposition of strength, ultimately reaching a level surpassing that of a Martial God. Is that correct?" Although the Wind Thunder King didn't fully comprehend everything Wang Linchi said, he managed to extract and piece together the key concepts.
"Correct, that's the gist of it." Wang Linchi wasn't surprised. Although the Wind Thunder King had his flaws, his intellect wasn't one of them. An increase in power naturally brings a corresponding improvement in logical reasoning.
"And the price?" The Wind Thunder King knew Wang Linchi wouldn't just offer him a special power capable of breaking the Alien Race's limitations for no reason.
"I need you to annihilate a human country. Of course, I don't care which one. If you plan on attacking the Great Zhao Country, I'll offer my verbal support." Wang Linchi certainly couldn't admit he coveted the bodies of the Alien Race. If I said that, the Wind Thunder King would turn on me immediately.
"Annihilate an entire country? Everyone in it?" The Wind Thunder King hadn't expected Wang Linchi to propose such a condition.
This condition is incredibly difficult. Annihilating a country isn't like wiping out a clan. Even if it were a small nation, escaping unscathed after its destruction would be far from easy.
And there would be repercussions, a reckoning from the humans.
The Human Martial Gods would never tolerate the survival of an Alien King who had annihilated an entire country.
It's a matter of their prestige and dignity.
"It depends on your sincerity. Whether you kill them all or not, how you handle it is up to you," Wang Linchi said, seeming completely unconcerned about the specifics of the condition.
Yet, precisely because he didn't give clear conditions, it made the task even harder to fulfill.
"I need to verify the authenticity of your Cultivation Technique before I take action," the Wind Thunder King stated. He had agreed. If he was going to do this, he would be ruthless. After all, they were enemies; there was no room for compassion.
"Verification? You can even wait until your Cultivation is complete before you act," Wang Linchi said, appearing very magnanimous.
Faced with Wang Linchi's apparent generosity, the Wind Thunder King remained extremely wary. The Human Clan are enemies. Wang Linchi is human, therefore he is also an enemy.
Even if Wang Linchi could be useful, he couldn't be trusted. Mutual exploitation was the best model for their interaction.
Becoming true allies was out of the question, especially since he knew next to nothing about Wang Linchi.
