Chapter 671 Who's The Winner?
Villain Ch 671. Who's The Winner?
Allen and the girls found themselves back at the front of the Cursed Crypts. They exchanged glances, their anticipation palpable as they turned their attention to the glowing screen in front of them. Numbers and stats danced across the display, detailing their conquests. Excitement filled the air, knowing that the winner would receive a wish from all of them.
Zoe was the first to speak, her voice filled with confidence. "Time to reveal who wins between us," she declared, a smirk playing on her lips. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation as she looked around at her companions.
Alice met Zoe's gaze with a confident smile of her own. "Who comes first?" she challenged, her tone daring the others to match her level of enthusiasm.
Allen observed his companions one by one, a faint smile playing on his lips. He remembered how it was him who had eagerly accepted Zoe's bet, but now, as they all stood there, it seemed like the girls were the ones who were truly pumped up about it. 'Guess they're all itching to make a special request,' he mused silently to himself, his mind working in overdrive.
"Me," Bella declared proudly, her voice ringing out in the virtual space. "I've wrecked 31 buildings, taken out 59 NPCs, and sent a whopping 1,201 players back to their respawn points. Total tally: 1,291," she rattled off, her confidence practically oozing out of every pore. Bella knew she had racked up an impressive number of player kills.
Alice piped up from beside her. "Hey, Bella, remember, we're only counting player kills here. The rest doesn't matter," she reminded her friend, shooting her a playful glance.
Bella's expression didn't falter. "Right, right," she acknowledged, undeterred. "So, 1,201 players it is," she reiterated, her tone as sure as ever.
"I'm 1,223 players. I win," Alice announced her count.
Bella's confident facade crumbled faster than a sandcastle at high tide. Her mouth dropped open in disbelief, and the gleam in her eyes dimmed considerably. "Wait, what? But... but I had..." she stammered, her words trailing off as she realized she had been outdone.
Alice, on the other hand, wore a triumphant grin as she proudly declared her victory. "Yep, 1,223 players, baby! Thanks to my trusty shadow creature," she boasted, a hint of smugness creeping into her voice.
"I'm 1,313 players," Vivian said, raising her hand in embarrassment.
Their curiosity piqued, they crowded around Allen, eager to see the evidence of his incredible feat displayed on his hologram screen. "What?! How?!" Larissa exclaimed, her voice tinged with disbelief as she stared at the screen in awe.
Zoe couldn't help but voice her incredulity, her disbelief evident in her tone. "You were literally only strolling around," she protested, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion as she struggled to make sense of Allen's unexpected revelation.
Allen's frown deepened as he defended himself against Zoe's accusations. "Hey, I also spammed my area skills, ya know," he retorted, his tone defensive as he sought to justify his impressive achievement. Despite the skepticism, Allen remained steadfast in his claim, his confidence unwavering in the face of their disbelief.
Alice's complaint rang out, laced with a hint of whine as she voiced her frustration. "We did the same thing, so why is your result better than ours?" she grumbled, her tone tinged with envy.
Allen's response was swift and smug, his grin widening as he explained his strategy. "I strategically deployed my skills in areas with high player traffic, maximizing my effectiveness. Plus, I targeted buildings where players were likely to be hiding, racking up extra points," he boasted, his confidence evident in every word.
But before their conversation could continue, Emma's voice interrupted them, dripping with irritation. "You guys sure had a blast, huh?" she remarked, her annoyance palpable as she observed their animated discussion. It was clear that she felt left out or perhaps frustrated by their focus on the game.
The unexpected voice caught their attention, prompting them to turn their heads in unison towards its source. To their surprise, a raven was flying nearby, its dark wings slicing through the virtual air. As it swooped closer, the bird morphed into the form of a female player known as BattleGoddess, her expression soured with a hint of disappointment.
"I wonder if dad will ever let me join you guys at an event like this," she muttered, her voice tinged with longing.
Allen gently placed his hand on Emma's head, a reassuring gesture that spoke volumes. "You wanna give it a shot? I'll help you talk to him," he offered, his tone warm and encouraging.
Emma's face lit up with gratitude at Allen's offer. "Thanks!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement at the possibility of joining her brother in the next event. It was clear that she had been longing for the chance to participate, and Allen's willingness to help her made her heart soar.
But before they could delve deeper into their conversation, a sudden notification appeared on the hologram screen, causing Emma to furrow her brow in confusion. "Hm? Oh, it's a text from Azura. This isn't normal," she murmured, her surprise evident in her voice as she read the message.
She scanned Azura's message. Her confusion only deepened, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency. "I need to text her back. Something's up," she explained, her tone tinged with concern. Without hesitation, Emma made the swift decision to log out, disappearing from the game in the blink of an eye.
