He turned around to see Larissa leaning against the counter, watching him with a smile.
"That was some fancy chocolate," he said, grinning.
Larissa laughed. "Yeah, I got it as a gift. Figured you'd appreciate it more than me."
"Well, I definitely did," Allen replied, wiping his hands. "Thanks."
Larissa straightened up, a playful glint in her eye. "Hey, do you want to stay a bit longer and play Hell's Gate with me? I've got a spare VR device. But if you're busy and need to finish your chapter bank, it's okay. I just wanted to spend more time with you, of course."
Allen smiled warmly, touched by her sincerity. "Sure, what makes you think I don't want to? I can stay for another hour or two."
Larissa's face lit up. "Awesome! Wait for me on the sofa, I'll grab the VR devices."
Allen nodded, feeling a surge of excitement. "Sounds like a plan." He headed to the living room and grabbed a drink from the kitchen on his way. Settling onto the couch, he pulled out his phone and quickly sent a text to Kai.
Allen: Hey Kai, just letting you know I'll be at Larissa's place until this afternoon. In case anyone's looking for me.@@@@
Larissa nodded, her eyes gleaming. "Sounds like a plan. Let's get to it."
At first, Allen felt it was no different from any other day. They moved swiftly to the portal room, their footsteps echoing in the dimly lit stone corridors. Allen selected a dungeon that was currently bustling with players, a popular spot for completing their daily quest requirements.
Once they stepped through the portal, they were transported to a vast, chaotic battleground. The air was thick with the sounds of combat—clashing weapons, spells being cast, and the cries of players locked in battle against the monsters. Allen surveyed the scene with a practiced eye. He felt the familiar rush of adrenaline, the thrill of entering a fray and demonstrating his prowess.
Without hesitation, Allen activated his area-of-effect skill, Dark Storm. The ground trembled and the sky erupted with dark thunder, ensnaring and obliterating at least more than ten players within moments. The quest quota was fulfilled in less than a couple of minutes, the simplicity of the task almost mundane for someone of his skill level.
Yet, as the dust settled and the defeated players respawned elsewhere, Allen felt a peculiar sensation. It wasn't the game itself that was off, but something within him. His heart was pounding harder than usual, a rapid thud that he could feel echoing in his chest. It was as if he was anticipating something, but he couldn't pinpoint what it was.
The excitement inside him was building, an unfamiliar and inexplicable feeling that seemed to grow with each passing second. He was accustomed to the exhilaration of the game, the thrill of victory and the satisfaction of achieving his goals. But this was different—an underlying current of something more intense and confusing.
Allen's brow furrowed as he tried to make sense of it. The game environment around him remained unchanged, the familiar landscapes and characters behaving as expected. Yet, the physical response of his body didn't match the routine nature of their activities. His breath quickened, and he felt a strange mix of eagerness and unease.
They returned to the Cursed Crypts. He stood still for a moment, a frown appearing on his face. His mind was racing, trying to analyze what was happening inside him. He felt his heart pounding faster than usual, each beat echoing in his chest like a drum. The excitement from the battle had not dissipated; instead, it seemed to have transformed into something more intense, more primal.
Allen's brow furrowed deeper as he attempted to focus. He was a seasoned player, well-accustomed to the adrenaline rush that came with virtual combat, but this felt different. He could feel a strange heat spreading through his body, a warmth that had nothing to do with the immersive environment of Hell's Gate or the game itself. It was his own body reacting, but to what, he couldn't quite grasp.
His mind began to wander, slipping away from the virtual world and into his thoughts. 'Wait... why do I suddenly feel horny again?' he thought, perplexed. This wasn't the first time he'd felt this way today, but it was unsettling to have such a reaction now, in the middle of a game. The intensity of his arousal seemed disproportionate, and he struggled to understand why.
