Chapter 162: One person missing?
Chapter 162: One person missing?
"Severus." Albus Dumbledore patted Severus Snape's shoulder gently and said with a hint of gentleness: "We should go."
Severus Snape was awakened by the sudden sound, his eyes were a little confused, but he soon regained his clarity. He took a deep breath.
Snape's gaze fell on Voldemort's body again. There was no emotion in his eyes, only a deep sense of relief.
He stared at Voldemort's body silently. After a moment, he turned and left, his steps firm and resolute.
"That's not my Dark Lord..." Snape muttered to himself, his voice very low, as if he was only talking to himself.
He knew that the real Dark Lord had died at his own hands, and the end was sealed when he split himself into Horcruxes.
Lucius Malfoy took the confused Draco Malfoy to the position farthest away from Harry Potter. The father and son chatted casually, and Lucius Malfoy would occasionally give the savior a few glares.
Especially when Lucius Malfoy seemed to be nonchalantly trying to get information from his little dragon, his glares were like free money, which made Harry Potter tremble with fear.
He had already learned a series of things about Harry Potter approaching Draco Malfoy under various excuses and making advances on him.
How could Lucius Malfoy, a man who had been through this, not see it? That wasn't just a normal gesture between friends, but that kid named Pott had ulterior motives!
Facing Lucius Malfoy's glare, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger finally walked to Harry Potter. They patted Harry Potter on the back sympathetically and prayed silently in their hearts: "Take care, my friend."
Hermione Granger was so smart, she must have seen it a long time ago, but Ron Weasley heard it from Ron.
What can Harry Potter do? He can only smile bitterly.
"Ms. Narcissa, we checked and found that almost all the people you mentioned are among the group, except for one person..."
A saint came over and spoke to Narcissa respectfully. He was a little hesitant because they, the saints, knew Narcissa's background.
"Bellatrix Lestrange is not among them."
Narcissa was silent for a long time, with no expression on her face, but her eyes revealed complex emotions, as if she was helpless, sad, or had some other indescribable feelings.
"Ah, never mind. I know where she is," Narcissa said calmly, as if she had expected all this.
She knew exactly why Bella wasn't here, and where she might be. "Leave it to me."
Only after the Saint nodded and left to attend to other matters did Narcissa reveal a barely perceptible trance. Bella... She sighed softly, a complex emotion welling up in her heart.
However, Narcissa is not a soft-hearted and kind person. Even though that person is her sister who has taken care of her since she was a child...she will not give up her principles and positions because of family affection.
Let's go and take a look first...that place...Narcissa thought to herself, a determined glint in her eyes.
She raised her hand and beckoned Draco and the others who were squatting on the ground with their heads tucked together, muttering to each other, and gently and lovingly instructed them to follow Albus Dumbledore back to Hogwarts and wait for her to return.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione all nodded obediently. Draco looked at Narcissa for a moment and then nodded hesitantly.
If Mom can't do it, maybe he can...
"Draco." Narcissa touched his head. Draco's action was too sudden, and she didn't intend to stop him, so she let it go.
She knew Draco had heard it, but Bella was different. It wasn't that she couldn't do it to Bella, but she didn't want Draco to do it.
Narcissa gripped her wand tightly, sighed softly, and headed alone to where Bellatrix Lestrange was hiding.
Cautiously, she pushed the door open, its hinges creaking, and stepped softly into the darkness.
This was their secret base, and most of her childhood memories were related to it.
As soon as she entered the room, a strong stench of decay hit her face, making her frown. She waved her wand and lit an ancient oil lamp, and the faint light illuminated the surroundings.
In the dim light, she finally saw Bellatrix, huddled in a dark corner, her face haggard and her eyes empty, as if she had lost her soul.
"Bella..." Narcissa called her name softly, her voice full of helplessness and sadness.
Bellatrix slowly raised her head, her eyes meeting Narcissa's. A bitter smile appeared on her face, and her eyes flickered with complex emotions.
Then her expression became ferocious again.
"You're here... I knew you would come... Master! No! Where is the Master!" Bellatrix's voice was low and hoarse, as if it had been corroded by something.
She was talking to Narcissa calmly at one moment, and then she was yelling and pulling her hair like crazy at the next.
Narcissa stared at Bella silently, feeling an indescribable pain in her heart. Once, they were a family as close as sisters, but now they were on completely different paths.
She discovered that the traces of dark magic on Bellatrix had penetrated deep into her soul and were irreversible...
"It's all over, Bella..." Narcissa slowly raised the wand in her hand, the tip of the wand flashing with light, "There will be no more pain."
Bella didn't show any intention of resisting. She closed her eyes quietly, as if she had accepted her fate.
Her body was trembling slightly, and her smile became more and more crazy.
Narcissa's hands trembled slightly, and she bit her lip, trying to suppress the pain in her heart. Finally, she waved her wand, and a soft light enveloped Bellatrix.
As the light faded, Bellatrix's body gradually became transparent, and finally disappeared into the air. The room returned to peace, with only the stench of decay still lingering.
Narcissa stood there blankly, tears blurring her vision. She knew this was what she had to do, but the pain deep in her heart could not be easily erased.
Even if this wasn't the Bella of her world, it was still Bella.
She turned and left the room, closed the door, and hid the house with a magic circle.
Goodbye, Bella.
