Chapter 2277 Aren't they beasts too?
The ship was short of medical supplies and the rocking was very agitated, which amplified Luo Longwen's pain from his broken ribs. Especially with the strong winds and waves at sea, Luo Longwen couldn't sleep well at night. Every time he was tossed around, the pain from his broken ribs would force him to turn on his phone, causing him to roll his eyes back in pain. The pain and exhaustion pushed Luo Longwen to the brink of collapse, from which he could not extricate himself.
"You! Where's your ship's doctor? Get him to take a look at me right now, I'm in so much pain I'm going crazy."
Luo Longwen was disheveled, his face was as white as paper, and his eyes were as dark as a panda's. He grabbed the captain by the collar with both hands and shook him like a madman, shouting and spitting as he did so.
“Master, sir, if there were a doctor on board, I would have found one for you yesterday. Our ship is shady, and so are we. What doctor would be willing to come aboard and join us in this filth?”
The captain, looking helpless, wiped the spittle off his face and protested his innocence.
"How can there be no doctor? What if you get sick on the ship? I don't care, you must find me a doctor, otherwise I'll get angry. If I get angry, then Donglou, that is, Yan Shifan, the young Grand Secretary Yan, will be angry. If the young Grand Secretary Yan is angry, then Grand Secretary Yan Song will be angry. Don't think that a mere captain like you can withstand the wrath of Grand Secretary Yan; even your master's entire clan cannot withstand the wrath of Grand Secretary Yan!"
Luo Longwen used a large banner as a shield, threatening the captain in the name of Yan Shifan and Yan Song, forcing him to find a doctor.
"I don't care, you have to find me a doctor today, or I'll get angry, I'm really going to get angry! You'll all be in big trouble!"
Luo Longwen gave the captain an ultimatum, then snorted and, groaning, was helped back to the cabin by his two lackeys.
Watching Luo Longwen's retreating figure, the captain gritted his teeth in anger, "That bastard! He's inhuman! We saved his life, and not only is he ungrateful, he even threatens us! Do we have a doctor on board?!"
The sailors were all indignant, their faces grim. Who could stand being threatened after saving someone?
After Luo Longwen and his men entered the cabin, a sailor approached the captain, made a throat-slitting gesture with his hand, and whispered menacingly, "Boss, why don't we just kill them later? Let's go all the way and kill all three of them, chop them up, and throw them into the sea to feed the fish! We already have enough lives on our hands, so what's the difference between these three beasts?"
"Kill! Kill! Kill! All you know is fighting! Yes, it's easy for us to kill them, but what about afterwards?! Our wives, children, and families are all in the hands of the patriarch! He's the patriarch's honored guest, a lackey of the Yan faction. The patriarch repeatedly instructed us to serve them well. If he's on this ship, we'll inevitably offend the Yan faction. Do you think the patriarch will let us go? Will he let our wives, children, and families go?!"
Upon hearing this, the captain couldn't help but get angry and slapped him hard on the back of the head, giving him a good scolding.
“Uh, that won’t do,” the sailor scratched the back of his head. “It’s no big deal that my parents and wife are dead. I should thank the head of the family. I’m three less burdens. But my son is a different story. I’ve been with many women outside, but I only have one son. If my son is gone, I’ll be childless.”
"Damn, you really are a filial son!" The captain rolled his eyes speechlessly.
"That's how my parents treated my grandparents, so I'm just following their example," the sailor said shamelessly.
At this moment, the other sailors interrupted their conversation, "Boss, where are we going to find a doctor for him?! It's too late to dock now; the nearest port is at least a day's voyage away. These three bastards are truly heartless; they forgot about our life-saving grace the moment they saw us. If we can't find a doctor today, who knows how much they'll resent us."
"That's right, they're complete beasts! We don't have a doctor on our ship, and we don't have time to reach the shore. If we can't find a doctor, they'll hold a grudge against us. What are we going to do?"
The surrounding sailors chattered amongst themselves.
"They say three cobblers are equal to one Zhuge Liang, so with so many of us, surely we can come up with a solution. Think about it, all of you, think carefully."
The captain gave the order.
"Do you think we could come up with a doctor?!"
"Just because we say someone is a doctor doesn't mean they become a doctor!"
The sailors were so worried they scratched their heads.
"Good! Well said!" The captain clapped his hands.
"What did we say?!" The captain suddenly clapped and cheered, startling the surrounding sailors. What did we say that made the captain say we said it was good? Has the captain had a stroke from being so anxious?
“You say whoever we say is a doctor, and that person becomes a doctor.” The captain stroked his chin and smirked.
“Boss, that’s not what we’re talking about. It’s not that whoever we say is a doctor becomes a doctor.” The sailors shook their heads.
"Hehe, no, no, it's just that. We say who's a doctor, and that's who they are. What do they know? We say who's a doctor, and that's who they are," the captain said, sounding as if he were talking nonsense.
The sailors suddenly realized what their captain meant; it was Monroe Longwen and his crew.
"So, who should we call the doctor?" someone asked.
"Ah San, didn't you used to work as a doctor's assistant in the village?!" The captain looked at the sailor named Ah San.
Ah San spat out a mouthful of water and quickly said, "Boss, I was just assisting the village veterinarian, pulling legs, brewing medicine, and doing things like 'beating pigs' and 'stirring dogs to mate'."
"Ahem, aren't they animals too?" The captain waved his hand.
"That makes sense." The sailors around him nodded in agreement. A veterinarian treats animals, and it's a perfect fit for Luo Longwen, this beast.
"But how do you explain this? Didn't they say there were no doctors available? Now they're here again. How do you explain that?"
The Indian asked.
"That's simple. A great reward will surely bring forth brave men. You boarded the ship hiding your identity as a doctor, and after I offered a reward of one hundred taels, you revealed your identity as a doctor for the reward money." The captain made up a reason for him.
"One hundred taels?! Boss, when are you going to give it to me?!" Ah San was excited as soon as he heard that.
"Are you an idiot? Where did you get a hundred taels? I made up a reason! I made it up, I made it up, do you understand?!"
The captain gave him a big pocket on the back of his head.
“I understand, but what if he tests me to see if I’m a doctor?!” Ah San asked another question.
"Just treat him like an animal, use all the jargon you learned when you were a veterinary apprentice on him, and fool him. Also, prescribe him medicine or folk remedies, anything that doesn't kill him is fine. As long as it works, just keep it going." The sailors around Ah San gave him advice, teaching him how to fool Luo Longwen. (End of Chapter)
